[How to] Save transfer form iOS (Iphone, Ipod, ...) to PC
I managed to transfer a save form iOS to this version(steam) just now.
After seeing people saying it was impossible I decided to post this.

Please note that achevements seem a bit buggy. (My achevements only unlocked partially.) and that the iOS version that I used was not fully updated (see below) so keep that in mind.

I do not know if that will work if the version you have on iOS is higher that the one on steam.

And for the obvious warning :
I HAVEN'T HAVE TIME TO FULLY TEST, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ALLWAYS DO BACKUPS.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First step: Go grab the save file in the iOS device (you need iExplorer)

iExplorer link: https://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/?gclid=CI_Bveqe7cYCFQmCaQodmD8C1Q

youtube link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDIbV4BWh6g (big thanks to that dude or dudette for the video [not mine])

You may have more files than in the video those you want are:

events.dat
profile.save
oldprofile.save (I'm gussing it's a backup by the name)
game.save (only appear if you have a game in progress)

Second step: Go to the save file directory
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[bunch of numbers]\306020\local\Data\Docs

Third step: Unload the files you grabbed form the iOS device over those in the directory and you are golden

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope you might find that usefull. I'm a lvl 73 and I didn't wanted to restart XD

PS: Sorry for the english it's very late and I'm not a native english speaker.

For the record I did it with this (prob. too much info) :

IOS :
iPhone 3G iOS ver. 6.1.6
Bloons TD 5 ver. 2.15.1

PC :
Bloons TD 5 steam ver. 2.16
iExplorer ver. 3.7.7.0
Windows 8.1 pro

EDITS: Minor fomatting and updates plus I added the spec of everything I used.

^ Awesome.

This kind of stuff is exactly why the net can be so useful - allowing people to SHARE INFORMATION with others.

Perhaps other interested folks will now try this method and see if it can also work for them. More people who try this and succeed will definitely prove that this is a real work-around.

It would be great if Sam from NinjaKiwi has time to see this thread and comment on it - the OP may have discovered something even NK may not be aware of.

It happens everywhere to all companies. :)

cheers and thanks again for sharing your work!

PS:

Not to worry, your English is perfectly fine!

I posted this after Sam said it was impossible

Yep, Lestatar is correct. There's no way transfer iOS/Android data to Steam. Sorry about that! :(

I wish he sees this, that might motivate people who have the mobile version to buy the PC version. I personnaly like the pc version more than the mobile one!

And many thanks for the kind words :D

We can't let this thread get deleted because I just saw a few more people get help from this!

I feel like since this is possible, this thread should be pinned. Just my two cents on this one.

You don't need iExplorer, you can also use iBrowse, it's a free program and has some limitations, but it doesn't ask you to buy a full version or anything of the like.

You can browse the needed spots to do this, with it.

I think I read in the Steam rules that we aren't allowed to bump, just so you know, and in case if you didn't.

Yeah and I hate it.

Ok, the purpose for that rule is because it's annoying when someone bumps a long lost thread that is VERY unneeded.

Thanks for the advice :) But I am well-versed in forum etiquette, having been on forums for decades. And also modded a few in my time. :)

There should be absolutely nothing wrong with my bumping this thread.

It contains potentially useful information to the community at large and my bump was on top of the last post that was 2 days old.

Any mod worthwhile of the title would have to agree.

So I am not worried in the least. :)

cheers,
-les

EDIT:

This post however, and the few above it are decidedly off-topic and boards with tight posting rules may be inclined to delete them.

But seeing as how it appears that there is ZERO Steam Moderator presence around here, again, I don't see any particular cause for alarm.

:)

Ah, ok then.

what about something like:

save on PC < > oneDrive < > save on iOS

since both platforms got onedrive and stuff.

could be dropbox too.
or any other cloud system.

i think there is a way to make links on iExplorer

sure there is on iFile, and on Terminal, or SSH.

This is super helpful, but would this hypotheticaly work in reverse going from Steam to Android?
