Temple of the Monkey God question

I built a Temple on the left side of the river. It did not take a Sun God tower on the right side of the river. Later, when I upgraded that Sun God tower to a Temple, it took out the first Temple as part of the sacrifice.

That sucked.

Does that mean the new Temple has ALL of the firepower of the old temple, plus its new sacrificed buildings?

It did not seem that way to me in the game, but I may have just been grumpy.

Does the firepower of a Temple always exceed its sacrifice? What about non-tower things? I had a bunch of Ray of Dooms and BADS, both 4th upgrades from the Dartling Gun. Does that firepower get included in the Temple?

How can you tell what a Temple will take for sacrifice? Does its Range matter? Should I keep the Monkey I want to be a Temple eventually on a smaller Range?

1. the second sacrifice you did (even a max temple as sacrifice) ,has only the power of the extra tower - in your case over 30k worth of super monkey, nothing extra.
Extra quote: the sacrifices required for max temple are 30k worth of EACH: bomb or mortar, glue, wizard, ice and an "extra tower" - aka any other tower. REMEMBER: sacrificing more then 30k worth of any tower DOES NOT increase temple's power anymore!!!
2. yes, you can tell what sacrifices your temple will accept: only the towers within the god monkey's range - depending on its range upgrade.

as a side advice: if you don't intend to go very late game, you can just build a low tier temple with: 30k worth of bombs or mortar, plus 30k worth of an extra tower ( not glue, wiz, ice).
and if don't have enough space to build more towers for sacrifice, then use only 30k worth of extra tower ( very low tier temple). personaly, for extra tower i use a 0-4 supermonkey. others use village. yes, the super monkey will cost more then 30k, but that's just me.
As for mid tier temple, i use 30k worth of bomb or mortar, a single 4-2 glue, a single 4-2 wiz, a single 4-2 ice and a 0-4 super monkey.

-bomb or mortar ads missiles to your temple
-glue monkey ads glue
-ice ads ice
-wizard ads tornados
- extra temple ads blades at 30 k worth sacrifice, or darts - if below 30k worth.
