Tack shooter literally the worst tower in the game?

Funnily enough, The tack shooter is probably my most used Generic tower followed by boomer, ninja, wizard and dartling gun.

The ring of fire with a village 3/2 just works for me

In my personal experience, while the right-side upgrades are indeed.. not very good, a Ring of Fire can put in some serious work on certain maps. While it's arguably a lot stronger with a Village only, EVERYTHING is a lot stronger with a Village. I feel it's not generally bad, just very situational.

Oh yeah, I will definitely agree that ring of fire is quite good (and even the upgrade before that is pretty decent), but like Frozen said, it's very situational, which takes away its usefulness compared to most other towers, which, along with the fact that it has little range and needs other towers to "support" it, puts it into the bottom tier on an overall usefulness/efficientness basis.

Regardless of being a bottom tier tower overall, I have to admit that watching the ring of fire eat up bloons is a very satisfying feeling :)

Anyways, I do agree with "TheHandsomeArrow," the OP; the tack shooter isn't all that good. The only thing that probably saves it is the ring of fire upgrade, but that upgrade isn't enough to redeem it.

engineer and farm

you put 1 1-0 engineer with the engineer highest tier building thing, farm for a while, then spam whatever

i guess if youre going for the highest round possible then there would be the ninja and ice for their abillities and heli for stacking glitch, temple and stacked tech terrors for highest dps

the ring upgrade will allow it to pop a few layers of bloons as they go by, pretty useless and also for the later rounds with a ton of bloons you don't get a ring of fire, you get ice monkeys to pop all the bloons because ring can only pop 10,000 bloons with 1 ring. also cost is barely something to consider in this game because literally all you do is put a 1/0 engineer and then after some 20 rounds you can spam factories.

The stacking glitch was patched quite a while ago if i remember properly but i may be wrong

The ninja and ice are useless for going ultra late game. The way to get the highest rounds is using as many temples as you can fit and filling the rest of the map with chippers

it´s good for shooting down more bloons, the most other tower can only shot at one. so when you took the tack shooter on the right place than you hold down the bloons.
But be careful it´s good for the beginning and suport but with the moabs or big waves of bloons came you need other towers

I actually favour the tack shooter, combing the ring of fire upgrade with the ice tower is a great combo for areas where you can hit bloons on 3 to 4 different sides of it.

Tack Shooter is basically only worthwhile for Ring of Fire. That being said, Ring of Fire is a fairly efficient tower that does a lot of work on hordes of bloons. They're notable for being able to hit both blacks and leads, while being able to clear huge waves of stacked-up bloons fairly easily.

RoFs were frequently used in BTD Battles (at least, back when I played they were) for these reasons.

The main reason they suffer is because, in most cases, a well-positioned 3/2 boomerang will do the RoF's job, but better.

If we're just talking about the tower, i'd agree with most of the tier listing, but with specialty buildings, the towers would have a huge change around due to say, dart monkey gaining explosions, thus being able to pop leads. Or a self aiming mortar which increases its potential use for a decent price(not to mention with the stun that can still affect black bloons). Do take note of that when deciding your listing of towers. I'm biased towards my mortar monkey though :P

Tack shooters are way better in BTD Battles, where a RoF can easily beat regrow rainbows with monkey boost

Tbh... 3/x and 4/x Tack Shotters can be a good choice but in a very few maps and situlations, On some beginner maps and two intermediate maps is a good choice if you place them correctly other than that... avoid, it depends on map too and how you use it.
Dartling Gun also seems horribly underestimated too, well with upgrade its pretty good on some maps but overall depends on the style.
The only time I ever found Mortars useful was on the volcano map but I didn't tried many things with them.

Honestly the tower effectiveness can depend on what kind of towers you place where and in which order (And on which map) but yeah... I think Tack Shotter is mostly for Beginner / Intermediate maps.
