Bloons TD5
game crashing
recently my game crashes whenever a round starts or ends, even in the first rounds. Does anyone know what could be happening?

Hello!
At the totem event, I had twice that, despite successfully passing impoppable (just a tired eye for me), I did not get the lap confirmed.

Two times is enough for me - I don't give a damn now.

Otherwise I can only tell you about a lot of reloads at co-op games..

If you mean either - yes, it is.

If not - the game itself has been stable for me since purchase.

best regards

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Maybe it's the game? Especially since it was working fine for me before. And I have a "good PC" lol

Dude I figured it out. Someone on the discussion page told people what to do. Here's what he said:

1. If Bloons TD5 is running, close it.

2. Open Windows Settings via the start menu:
a. Start > Settings (Gear Icon)

3. Navigate to Virus & Threat Protection:
a. Update & Security > Windows Security (tab on left) > Virus & threat protection

4. Under the “Virus & threat protection settings” heading, click on “Manage settings”

5. Scroll down to the “Exclusions” heading, and click “Add or remove exclusions”

6. Add the following two folder exclusions and one process exclusion:
a. <DRIVE LETTER>:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BloonsTD5
i. Click on “+ Add an exclusion” > Folder
ii. In the “Select Folder” windows explorer box that comes up, Navigate to “<DRIVE LETTER>:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common” replacing items between <> with the correct value for your installation location.
iii. Click on the folder named, “BloonsTD5” to highlight it, then click on the “Select Folder” button.
b. <DRIVE LETTER>:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<YOUR STEAM ID>\306020
i. Click on “+ Add an exclusion” > Folder
ii. In the “Select Folder” windows explorer box that comes up, Navigate to “<DRIVE LETTER>:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<YOUR STEAM ID>” replacing items between <> with the correct value for your installation location.
iii. Click on the folder named, “306020” to highlight it, then click on the “Select Folder” button.
c. BTD5-Win.exe
i. Click on “+ Add an exclusion” > Process
ii. Type, “BTD5-Win.exe” without quotes
iii. Click on “Add”

7. Re-launch Bloons TD5 and play as normal.

Note: Your drive letter will almost always be "C" and your save data folder is almost always the only folder under the userdata folder with a long number for a name unless another person uses steam on your computer.

Also, all credit goes to the guy who said that. I don't remember their name though

The text is from @DAVdaBRAV - sticky provided by the developer in discussions -> How to fix stuttering, freezes, & lag from the windows defender bug February 2021.

That would only help if it was up to Windows Defender. Which can't be the case with me because I don't use it at all.

PS: My PC is on top, too. ^^

Have you tried putting your game on your exclusion list for windows defender scans? I had the same issue on even my high end pc until I did this just follow these steps assuming you have windows 10
1. Go to settings
2. Go into Updates and Security
3. Click on Windows Security on the side bar and click open windows security
4. Click onto Virus and Threat Protection on the side bar and click mangae settings under virus and threat protection settings (should be the second heading if you have any confusion)
5. Scroll down to exclusions and click on 'add or remove exculsions'
6. Click on add exculsion (be sure to select folder for the exculsion type)
7. simply find the game on your computer you can do this by going through you SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Bloons TD5
This fixed the freezing at the end and beginning of rounds issue. Kind of a pain you have to dig around just to fix what should be a basic part of the game. Ninja kiwi should consider a fix

I forgot to @ you too but refer to my previous comment if that guy's fix didn't work lol

everything ok, Kachina. I didn't install windows defender.

By the way, looking for a co-op partner. Have a look at: Co-op Match Requests
