Glue Supply Depot isn't bad by any means, but it doesn't add anything to my specific setup. I can already (rather cheaply) build a 4/2 bomb, 3/2 ice, and 2/3 glue gunner, all within range of a 2/3 monkey village, and have absolutely nothing below a MOAB get through it.
Therefore, I'd rather have the free darter at the start, and every 10 rounds, and have one of the darts of each darter be explosive, so that I can solely depend on a few 2/3 darters until the upper 30s, allowing me to invest a much greater amount of money towards farming.
Other specialty buildings, while providing "stronger" bonuses, force you to be more inefficient with your initial setup, thus gimping your setup's overall efficiency and farming capabilities.
The general consensus on this topic is that the dart, boomerang, and engineer are the top three specialty buildings. The real debate has been which of those 3 is the best and i am one firmly in the dart monkey camp. I know some will disagree with my statements there but virtually everytime i see this issue brought up nomatter the forum those 3 come out on top.
Those 3 all give good boons to early game while providing only a minor buff to late game but allow for better early game farming.
I would put the glue in one of the weaker tiers of specialty buildings. The tower costs to much for what it does at lower rounds and by the roundd you can easily buy it moabs are your main threat and you are just using a few towers to pop anything under a moab. I suppose that specialty does have a niche use but that is all it will ever have.
Almost the only specialty building I use.. It automatically collects your bananas. 'Nuff said.
While the chippers stun ability is quite nice their cost early game is quite significant and they greatly slow down the rate of farming and their stun only works against regular bloons which are easily handled with other options. The chippers are a staple of my build but their specialty building is only used for going ultra late game
I personally dont find the glue worth it until you want to stop the late game bloon rushes and by that time i have the funds to build my glue, ice, bomb, village setup for infinite bloon pops and i can have that at the very end of the track giving me the rest of the track to pop the moab class. I can see how it would work for you but it is not for me and is only really usefull in its one niche case and if that fits your build go for it.
Edit: I am not a fan of the glue gunner at the front of the track like you are mentioning because once the moabs get past the glue gunner it is no longer doing very much for the setup so mine is always after all of my moab popping is done because those and the bloons that come from them are your main threat after round 63.
Other then that, the ability to pop lead like that is nice with the early game coverage. I give it an 8/10.
And yes, I got it confirmed by Kiwi. They said it could be overpowered so they removed it.
but that's just me. I like to believe all of them have their uses.
All buildings have their use but when looking for the best it comes down to dart, engi, and boomer
