Empty Cauldron?
How do you want to empty a cauldron? I needed to replace the water in the cauldron with salt water to make Tansy extract.

boil the water out
I tried that and it took hours and then the server crashed. I'll just make another cauldron when the servers come back up. Seems like an oversight that you can't empty it like a barrel.
Use the empty cauldron on an empty barrel.
Or use empty buckets

i did that extract the other day and it didn`t require to have salt water on the cauldron, you can have just normal water boiling on cauldron and a vessel (like a waterskin as me) filled with salt water and the recipe will use the water from there instead.

You can also just use an empty barrel on the cauldron. Useful if you want to conserve high-quality water while keeping the cauldron lit.

You don't need to use the water from the cauldron, it just need water to boil. Just get salt water in your inventory, open the cauldron and craft. All you need is the cauldron menu open and the liquid there boiling, no need to replace it.

I thought this too, but thats not how it works.
Cauldron needs water in it, you need the salt water in a vessel (bucket), with the other ingredients in your inventory.

as others have said. just have about 10L of boiling water ( a metal pot is best as it boils instantly) have saltwater in either a bucket or in a flask and then access the pot to make it. you do not have to put the saltwater in the actual pot. only in a carrier in your inventory. thats how i make mine.
but in general.. you take an emptry barrel and right click the cauldron and you get the liquid into the barrel from cauldron.. works like that with most things that hold liquid.
Thanks for the replies guys. The correct answer seems to be that you can't put salt water in a cauldron. I think I just held a bucket of salt water and regular water in the cauldron.

put saltwater in a waterflask or bucket/glass jar. frankly i just use a water flask with 3.0L does what i need it to do, more and i use a bucket. store extra in a barrel for later needs
