So if you get bitten by midges and get the Deep Worm ailment, there is no way to get rid of it without finding Tansy for the Tansy extract?
I you aren't able to find it or don't have right stat lvls your stuffed ?
Any other way to get rid of it?

thanks

According to the wiki, the extract's the only way to get rid of it. Though you seemed to have a bout of really bad luck, don't know how many bites I've gotten since this world started, and haven't seen Deep Worms yet.

Can't seem to find the exact value(perception * exploration) you need for tansy to start showing up, but it shouldn't be too high. I can say that 500 is definitely enough, probably less. Afterwards it's just searching for it in Grass, Cloud Range, Green Wards, Heath terrains and having the ability to make it.

Game can be unforgiving at times.

Deep worm in its current iteration is absolute cancer and needs to get nerfed asap. If you happen to be unfortunate enough to get this debuff (as i have) and ure still relatively early on in the game, it slows your progression immensely. I dont have an issue with the debuff itself, what i have an issue with is the requirements for the remedy. According to the wiki, you need 1k per*exp to be able to forage it on the world map, which is absolutely obscene. Getting to the point when u can do that takes a long time, and during said time, if u have the debuff, its going to take you even more time because the debuff makes food less effective, essentially making you eat a lot more of the same foods to get stat points like perception to actually unlock the ability to see foraging item needed for the remedy. The per*exp requirement needs to get nerfed HARD, somewhere in line with the requirement for things like daisies and the like. This debuff is nothing more than an inconvenience for players who are high enough to forage it, but for anyone who isnt, especially if u happen to be early on in ur run, ure basically f***ed.

Prevention beats a cure, as Zharvakko says. You guys should have rubbed your characters face in that Tansy plant before heading out.

In other words is their fault for not having a max character with all materials. You forget this game is punishing as hell, especially to newbies

Wanted to post this to offer a correction to my previous post as well as help anyone who maybe doesn't know that the wiki for this foragable item is actually wrong. I can confirm that the tansy plant does not in fact take 1k per*exp in order to see on the map. I am currently sitting on 270 per*exp and can already see them (thank god). I dont know the exact number threshold u need to see them, but if i was to venture a guess, i would say perhaps 250. I hope this insight helps other players out there. Cheers

20 perception x 18 exploration and I've yet to find any Tansy whatsoever as my Deep Worm debuff is now 100%

I had 27 perception and 10 exploration and i was able to see them. Also, from my experience, they spawn on grassland and wild moor biome, i didnt see them on any other biomes besides those. Also since its winter now, foragables dont spawn anymore (i think?) except for taproot and stinging nettle from what im seeing thus far, so you might not be able to find them anymore until winter passes, which is unfortunate. Also, when you use the tansy medicine, it doesnt completely heal the worm. Each use only heals 28%, or at least thats how much it healed for me when i used it. So since you're at 100%, you might need more than 1 batch of it to completely heal urself. I hope this information helps u in some way. cheers

I wanted to take the time to offer some additional insight into this wound to help anyone who may be struggling with it, especially now since it is winter in game and foragables don't spawn anymore. I have come to discover through my own experience that there is in fact another way to cure deep worm besides using the tansy medicine. However, this method takes a significant amount of time, and the time it takes will be dependent on how much % your deep worm has accumulated. That method is starvation. Allow me to explain by using my situation...

I contracted the deep worm recently, through unknown means (seeing as how it is winter in game now and midges or any other bugs aren't around anymore, which is bizarre, but w/e) and i decided to try this method to rid myself of it. When i first learned that i had it, my worm was at 4% which grew eventually to 10% despite the fact that i hadn't consumed anything since i found out i had it. The only conclusion that i can come up with is that the deep worm will stop growing once your stamina drops below 8000% (yellow bar). At this point, the worm started to get smaller, at a rate of approximately 1% per 1 hour or so. Another thing that i have come to notice during this time is that the worm does not get smaller if u r offline, it only shrinks when online. Eventually the worm had completely disappeared. My advice to anyone who is thinking of trying this method, is try to conserve your stamina as much as u can once u get below 8000%, by doing things such as walking everywhere you go, and also do not drink any water. as that drains your stamina very quickly, If your stamina drops below 5000% you wont be able to do many of the manual labor tasks (like digging or mining for example) if it does get that low, and if u end up consuming any food during this time, it will just grow the worm again and reset your progress, taking even longer to get rid of it.

Your progression will be slowed by using this method, but it is a small price to pay to rid yourself of the worm, in my opinion at least. I hope that this insight from my experience with help anyone who is struggling with this wound. Cheers
