It even says "Full Controller Support" on the Store Page. :steamfacepalm:

Playing in control of Xbox One, the character only moves, but can not attack.

That's why I said that the game deserves better attention on the gamepad.

I'm using a Steam Controller for moving & all attacks (punch, kick back-kick, jump-kick, stomp).
Can u try to re-map your controller buttons in Big Picture Mode, that might help.

you can also remap the controls within the game, start -> More -> Controls -> remap
