Switch problem

I've seen this come up in other topics, but in relation to Gustave and the tuna, my game locks up when I try and talk to him about the quest, and the tuna still hasn't shown up - was this ever fixed/does it happen to everyone/is there anything I can do?

So I just quit to get out of the locked up game - came back in, all my quest progress was gone and there was a new daily list of tasks. Opened my inventory and it locked up again.
It now locks up at the inventory screen every time I reenter the game. Good grief. I was actually enjoying the game, but how is it possible that the game was released in such a state that playing it breaks it?

Now it won't save on a new game. Had to force quit since there is no save/quit option, means no idea when or even if your progress has saved. Good grief, I mean come on. There's so much potential here and it's going to waste because no one is going to want it in this state.
