Problem with bridges and tunnels
So I have problem making bridges and tunnels on even ground, it always says "unable to align terrain". I wanted to make bridge over tracks ( I know that you can`t make them that way), so I deleted tracks and started to create bridge .. first time it worked, but after that I have not been able to repeat that .. always "unable to align terrain", no tracks bellow, just even ground. Next step were make tunnel ... ok, entrances made, try to connect, again "unable to align terrain" ... wtf? And yes, I`m aware about option M and N to rise or lower tunnel/bridge path, it doesn`t help.

Looking from bridge screenshot, as you see, bridge works only if one end is made by uneven terrain, but big link with even ramps don`t. I could live with that, but tunnel .. my sweet tunnel :(
Any suggestions or explanations, it is bug or you need to do that in very specific way ?

You cant make road bridges that way, well, you can but it's very rare it works due to the collisions you show there. To make a road bridge (or tunnel) just drag out the road then use N and M to raise and lower. You will need to drag it around, experimenting with height and length to get it to work. Also, of course you CAN build over existing roads/tracks, in fact, you need to as if you don't, the bridges pillars will be in the way when you try to rebuild under it.

I love this game but this bridge and tunnel building is totally stupid, I thought they would have found an easier way by now.

They have made it much easier.

Nice, thx .. didn`t thought of it, always was trying to use +/- elevation of road and build ramps, then connect them. This works, only downside it takes more place then ramp method would, if it would work :D

Yeah, you can always lay short segments of tracks between pillars and then connect to track line.

Anyway, thx for road idea, totaly didn`t thought that could work :D

An easy way to run a road across a track: instead of making a bridge, delete a section of track, place the road, then run the track over the road with a crossing. Not exactly what you were asking, but related to bridge/tunnel issues.

Also you can usually make a bridge or tunnel work if you start back far enough and fiddle with it. You can use the pop up to make a ramp section, then a bridge section, etc.

The problem I am almost certain that you are having is due to the terrain at the corners being too steep. I quickly just took a screenshot to help illustrate.

The bridge on the left I smoothed out the corners of the road ramp before building the bridge and it allowed me to build it just fine, but on the right hand side I didn't do that so the corners had too vertical a slope and would give me the terrain alignment error.

Edit: Just to make it more clear about what I am refering to when I say the corners of the road, here is another picture with two ramps, one with smoothened corners and one without.
