Rare spawn ?

Hey,

I need to find the eater of names to finish the quest of the first curator, but I couldn't find it even after spending sometimes just patrolling around the Chenolate. I've made researchs on that and people say it's a "rare spawn", but does that mean it will just spawn in my game every once in a while and then disappear, or does it mean it only spawns in some games (which would mean my current captain is just screwed) ?
I had the impression that it was the latter, but that would be incredibly frustrating since...

on this topic, is anyone compiling a list of all the possible items required for the quest? the wiki only has 1 or 2 per page, but i think there are probably 3 or so per page

I have enough secrets to get to 100 mirrors, can you just tell me where to go then ? I gave up on the eater of names, it really doesn't want to spawn in my game...

Ah, thanks Hyperion, I thought this scar was only a bad thing, I didn't even imagine that could be something that the curator would want to see...
But the black pearl intrigues me though, so I think I prefer to go that way ^^

As far as I'm aware there's still only one for Cosmogone and Violant, though the latter can be obtained in at least two ways.

The third option for Gant is in Frostfound, but it's not a pearl. That said I do vaguely recall a Gantish pearl now...

Yup, on the last room, AKA "Dark Room". It requires 100 mirrors. I also don't want to get the scar, so I've been increasing my mirrors ever since I went there on another quest. You have to chose the "harvest star shell" option.

Here's a full list[pastebin.com] of what can be used for each colour, though it doesn't say how to get them. Rather significant spoilers, obviously, which is why I made it a link rather than just posting it here. Peligin, Cosmogone, and Violant only have one option each, Irrigo and Apocyan have two, and Viric and Gant have three.

Once you gain access to the Court in the Empire of Hands, you can trade Red Honey for Violant Ink

I can't remember where it was, but I gained violant ink as a quest reward somewhere, and I never dealt in Red Honey so there should be at least three sources of it.

If you successfully find the treasure in Treasure Valley, the rewards include a pot of violant ink.

Yes, and that was probably it, then. Because I vaguely remembered that the quest ocurred in the Empire of Hands. =]
