Isery's Patronage bugged?

According to the sunless sea wiki I was supposed to get some "Scholar's notes" from the alarming scholar to take to the patron on the isle of cats after i smuggled the red honey for them. But i received no such thing from the scholar and had to battle or pay the patron isery upon return to the Isle of cats?

Is this is a bug that i did not receive the scholars notes, or is this happening to anyone else

Did the ministry catch you? Did you betray Isery and take money from the scholar instead of the notes?

It seems you did the same thing I did on my first time with that quest and just clicked the wrong reply. There are two options that have very similar icons: in one the scholar gives you the notes for Iserys, on the other he pays you (I don't remember exactly what the gives you). On the first time I played I also noticed not having received the notes, so I reloaded an earlier save to check and noticed my mistake.
