What is your most frustrating death?
For me, it is when I just got a merchant ship, used up all cash to buy goods for trade, ventured into frostfound and came out dead with 100 terror.

I thought Full Power was an on/off toggle and kept desperately pressing it in order to stop being at full power. This did not work.

While trying to get the black squares off the map, I accidently went too far north. An event happened causing me to lose most of my crew, supplies, and fuel. I was stranded at Frostfound with less than half crew and not enough fuel to make it anywhere. Luckily, there was a pirate nearby and he put me out of my misery.

Just bought the corvette and a 2nd cannon just for killing monsters. Died by jellyfish gangbang because I couldnt run fast enough to escape it

This is a longish one.

I had been regularly resting in London to cure wounds etc., and then met a lass and had a child. Only, I didn't notice that the option to spend time with my family didn't also cure wounds... as a result, I didn't realize I had 2 wounds.

The game was going well. After losing six captains to starvation, deprivation, lack of fuel, zeemonsters, etc. I finally had enough to afford a merchant cruiser, I had a Scion, and I was ready to start working towards a better engine. However, while exploring Frostfound, I put my hands on something I shouldn't have, and received Salt's Curse for my troubles. I had some money lying around, so I decided to try a Sunlight run to the Isle of Cats to raise the money to lift the curse. Unfortunately, I didn't plan it very well, and ended up completely broke, ~20 filled boxes of sunlight in the hold, without enough fuel to reach the Isle of Cats... or anywhere except London.

I pulled into Mutton Island to try and get some fuel from the random shipwreck that can be found there... no luck. With 0 fuel and 0 supplies remaining, I surrendered to Fate and sailed for London... ran out of fuel and savescummed. Tried again. Ran out of fuel and savescummed. Finally barely made it with hunger nearly at max (actually might have eaten a few crew members...), only to lose my Scion.

I looked at the Bruiser's offer for sunlight but it seemed sketchy... I had enough fuel and money from port reports to make it to the Isle of Cats, and I knew they paid well. At some point I also grabbed some candles.

On the way to the Isle of Cats, I decided I wanted to explore Godfall. After all I had plenty of crew and plenty of candles, what could be the harm? So with negligible echoes on hand (the majority of my wealth being locked up in the hold), I descended with my crew into the bowels of Godfall. One failed stat test later, and I acquired a wound, with the ominous description "You are mortally wounded." But... I didn't die? Ah must just be at 2 wounds, I thought. Finally we reached the inner chamber of Godfall, and found there more questions than answers... but plenty of valuable items to sell in London.

We returned in victory to port... and I promptly died.

This is the one and only time, so far at least, I have resorted to save editing to avoid death.

How did you manage to find a pirate at frostfound that brought you home? Did you lose anything?

It is now my 11th captain. Today I survived a mutiny with 43 iron to fight the murderers and then got 6 attribute bonus at Gaider's Mourn. Im so lucky I even got some celebration. It's a terrible world... Terrible...

I didn't run out of fuel at Frostfound, I ran out of fuel returning from the surface. The problem was, after Frostfound, I spent all my money on mirror-catch boxes and didn't reserve enough for fuel. I had like 1 fuel and a handful of supplies leaving the Canal, and wasted most of the supplies grinding SAY at Mutton Island hoping for a shipwreck.

If I'd been stuck at Frostfound, things would have been markedly different, since the SAY action there is guaranteed to give fuel and supplies.

It was my 5th captain, and I decided to make a port report run and go through as many port as I can and explore the map. The plan was to start from the north and come back from the south. So off I go with a full hold of fuel and supplies. Most of the run was surprisingly well, found maybe 70% of ports, had a few run-ins with some zeemonsters, but nothing I can't sneak by. The map itself was not bad either, with Salt Lions right beside London even.

As you can probably imagine, I was really struggling with terror by the last leg of this trip. Several times my terror was above 95, got 2 wounds from L iL, and through some lucked out event and shore leaves, I managed to keep it around 90. Just outside of the Iron Republic, I finally encounted a Glorious Dreadnaught. That sob must have hit me with 5 cannons at the same time, and took my hull down from 45 to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1. After I fullpowered out of there, my luck finally ran out. The engine exploded, and took out 2 of my last 5 zailors.

I was limping back to Fallen London, praying to all three gods. Zeemonsters almost got me several times, but I was careful. Just as I was sailing past Mutton Island, I got hit by that random event with Drownies. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drownies....takes 1 point away from my hull, and I was dead.

I almost punched my monitor...but such is the zee.

Finally had a good haul, made it through the chess games with lots of secrets ... And wham-o! whole crew mutiny. with a 17% chance to make it out I eek a win only to get mauled by a shark...LOL this game has no mercy

Sudden death from the third wound on an otherwise promising captain, because I was too low on supplies to want to use a wound resting when the option to heal one of my two came up, and I randomly got the third.

Well, I just died because of an event from the Avid Horizon. At least I got something good out of it.

When a (Pilgrim) Caligo Class Cruiser was lurking on top of London's port. It shot me up with torpedoes before I could say "How do you do" :(

Seeing the reply above, I suddenly find a piece of comfort after letting go the venturer and the Zepellin... After all I had the luck to survive a mutiny and maybe can retire peacefully :|

Today, I tried to zail south through Adam's Way. Got some nice stuff: Captivating Treasure, Judgements' Egg, secrets, etc. But it also redused my both hull and crew to 1. I died from a jellyfish headbang, trying to make it to London, just near Mutton Island, trying to hide from jellyfish in a port.

Filled boxes with light on that one island (Aestival?). Had two wounds, but only one empty box left... Of course I was gonna try filling that one up also. Yep, dead. Sigh.

Fun story but yeah, it gets kinda tedious, starting over again. Wish there was an inheritance thing for the cargo or ship.
