Touch Of The South is the last wierd cardinal direction thingy that I miss for this captain. I'm gonna give this a try.
I did this last night and it worked like a charm, though the VERY first thing I did in London was unequip them and take on more crew.
(Fun story: Did Adam's Way only once before. Made it back to London (not using this trick, went slow and panicky). "Whew! First order of business, let's repair the ship." Hired rat mechanics.
Accident during repairs, 1 crewman killed.
0 crew, gg, big NOOOOOOOO)
So... yeah, if there's a unique storylet from having WE ARE CLAY equipped under some sort of circumstance, I haven't seen it!
One other warning; if you bring Rat Assistants to repair your boat for extra safety, you likely want all 5. 1-2 will be worthless, as you'll be <50% HP so any hit will kill your last crewman. 5 assistants will repair the hull to full, letting you at least survive 25 dmg if a jillyfish gets frisky with you.
