Unique use for the Lampad Cutter
Apologies if this has already been noted, I didn't see it:

1 unique thing the Cutter (and I suppose the dinghy but why) can do:

Lampad Cutter + WE ARE CLAY = Full speed back to London after sailing up Adam's Way. 1 hit from anything will still kill you, but you have a far better chance of dodging/avoiding/outrunning.

Lampad Cutter + WE ARE CLAY + 3-5 Rat Assistants = Full speed AND can survive a hit or three from monsters.

So if you've got a stack of veils (for the check) and need Touch Of The South, the price of the Cutter & some rats seems a none-too-shabby bit of insurance for what's otherwise likely the riskiest trip you can take in the game.

Neat! I didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip!

Touch Of The South is the last wierd cardinal direction thingy that I miss for this captain. I'm gonna give this a try.

Just remember once you dock in London with "We Are Clay" they will realize the "impossible hold space" size for their full compliment and leave. I'm not sure if clicking (or not clicking) on certain things at that home port prevents this or not.

Is... that a thing that can happen? They're not actually crew, they're an auxilliary item that you equip to the boat which have, among other things, a side-effect of -3 Crew Capacity. This sets the Lampad from 5 crew capacity to 2, so when Adam's Way drops you to only 1 crew, you are 1/2... meaning 50%, meaning able to move at full speed.

I did this last night and it worked like a charm, though the VERY first thing I did in London was unequip them and take on more crew.

(Fun story: Did Adam's Way only once before. Made it back to London (not using this trick, went slow and panicky). "Whew! First order of business, let's repair the ship." Hired rat mechanics.

Accident during repairs, 1 crewman killed.

0 crew, gg, big NOOOOOOOO)

So... yeah, if there's a unique storylet from having WE ARE CLAY equipped under some sort of circumstance, I haven't seen it!

One other warning; if you bring Rat Assistants to repair your boat for extra safety, you likely want all 5. 1-2 will be worthless, as you'll be <50% HP so any hit will kill your last crewman. 5 assistants will repair the hull to full, letting you at least survive 25 dmg if a jillyfish gets frisky with you.
