I've chosen the Nemesis ambition.
I've got light fingers, but I want enigma.
Have they extended the content boundary for the ambitions yet? I'm not capped, I'm still a Flit-dweller, but it's going to be annoying to complete all that story to just get 'you've hit a content boundary, this story is done for now'. Like seeking mr. eaten's name! Are the devs going to finish that extra-creepy storyline?
I've managed to avoid doing anything bad, almost got all my skills to 50+. Although, I think I might be selling my soul soon. Who needs it, anyways?

Need to finish my book, but it isn't interesting enough yet! [100+]

Welcome darkness my old friend~

Yeah, I'm disgraced enough I fled back into the Tomb Colonies. I'd like to imagine they smuggled themselves aboard one of the steamships. Hopefully my Captain didn't throw them -me - overboard.

SMEN is currently on hold while Failbetter figures out how to proceed with it. Alexis Kennedy was writing it on his spare time, due to the harshness of the content and the fact that he figured very few players would actually participate in it. That resulted in the content being somewhat unstable. To make a long story short, there was a massive bug and someone lost a lot of Fate without any in-game compensation (they received a refund), and the storyline was temporarily shut down. There was a lot of other messiness surrounding that incident, most of which was neither Alexis' nor Failbetter's fault, but if it comes back they'll be supporting it more heavily than before.

As far as Ambitions are concerned, I am not aware of any content extensions. I dunno; there might be some super-secret stuff hidden deep in the bowls of the game, but if there is, I haven't found it, and no-one I know has either.

Also, you can participate in Enigma regardless of what Ambition you chose. Actually finding Enigma is another story entirely, however.
Awww man, I just got a terrible, terrible message to continue my ambition

To find her sister, you'll need to increase your Nightmares enough to get into the place that mad people go.

Make sure you don't have anything that reminds you of something shiny in your inventory. That is, something one might call a memory of light.

Likewise, after picking up Sunless Sea I started playing Fallen London - the combination of the two is really interesting!

Feel free to make my acquaintance: I am "Slerbal" on Fallen London

Don't forget to constantly check your messages. Sometimes there will be storylines that can be access only from there.
To add onto Orson's point, I'd recommend hooking your Email up to Fallen London and allowing them to send you messages about invitations and Living Stories. Failbetter won't send you spam, and you'll only get flooded if you have a lot of friends trying to contact you all the time for social actions.
I am Sir Killallzombies, and my nightmares are driving me insane.
(please help me... They are coming...)

I'd love to help, but unfortunately I am on Mutton Island, and I'm already shouting at the wind, so I'm probably not the best person to turn to for comfort.
Nightmares are hard to cope with. But there is several opportunity cards that can help you with them. One that popps up when you have 3 nightmare. It's called A moment's peace. The second one is named A Merry Gentleman and is unlocked at 5 nightmares. If you ignore him, you have a 50/50 chance that it'll reduce your nightmares.

It's hard but not impossible to cope with.
