starting ship with light on
The only places i found so far are the hell deal making people to the south but they have big ships. I was on the voyage north when I realised I had miscalculated how much fuel I needed and was about to pass the point of no return. I kept going hoping and found a place that wants a case of souls but i dont want to get caught with illegal stuff. Also the khans hate me because i kept getting stories told to me so i could sell them.
Also you generally should only use the light when you absolutely have to. It consumes a flat 1% fuel per tick. The starting engine at Speed 2 only consumes 0.8% per tick, so that means having the light on more than doubles your fuel consumption.
Wow that's crazy - do you get way more terror though? I noticed the fog is bad and the snow slows you down. I wish I could make more money just going with the wine to the mummy place.
Having your lights on also makes you more visible to enemy ships and creatures, so if you turn it off more often you might not have so much trouble sneaking into places like the Iron Republic.
On the starter ship, I think I was heading off with about 15 fuel 9-10 supplies because I don't want to have anxiety when I'm exploring, but I didn't go round the map, usually about half. So I did the southern hemisphere, then went on a trip round the northern parts, and so on.
I suppose you know this, but if you bring port reports to London you get fuel in return. It's also good to have a buffer on you because sometimes you can encounter events that need to use supplies/fuel.
Found the hell city.
- I use about X fuel to get there
- they sell this cheap and buy this profitably
- if I bring a guy here something he gives me something else
- my crew member wants me to do something here when I have an item
Etc
Trust me, it will be very worth it when you try to do questing all over the islands. And even then you will sometimes go on a quest and forget to bring some candle or whatever and have to go back halfway across the world or postpone the quest for a new expedition .
