Voracious Diplomat spy network

I was wondering, if I spread the spies for the Voracious Diplomat, will it work for or against London supremacy? I have never done it, and am curious how it works (maybe it'll get me a Khan's Glory port report?), but I don't want to play into the wrong hands.

My fear is that the Admiral disappears, so that I can't hand in more port reports. I am aware what happens if I give her Vital Intelligence...!

I've only ever managed to start a spy network in port Carnelian, but from what I've learned it doesn't necessarily harm London/benefit the competitors (the dawn machine Khanate etc.) unless you use the influence from your network to do so deliberately. (However picking up diplomatic agents won't help your standing with the admiralty though this is usually a very minor concern)

the harm/benefit seems to only come from who you turn in your intelligence to. Turn it into the Admiral and usually its beneficial, sometimes it does nothing. Turn it into the Diplomat and 50/50 shot of it helping London...or helping the New Sequence. A few times when turning in intelligence to the admiral resulted in no benefit to London I turned it into the Diplomat for the chance that it would help London.
Oh and if you really want to develop a network of spies, dont ever have the Haunted Doctor in your crew. Unless you like the anarchists.

Thanks guys, I might give this spy business a go then - with my next Captain, though, as I have the Haunted Doctor (can I get rid of him?). I don't ilke the anarchists, as I think they, too, cause the Admiral to leave. If I remember correctly, the Fallen London quest (transporting their stuff from the surface) had that effect.

Uh. You can definitely get Khanate Supremacy from certain failures when building your network.
