Khanate Trimarams around Khan's Heart/Glory
Faustic Corsairs around center north
Glorious Dreadnoughts around southeast
Crabs increasing in size the more east you are
Among other stuff
Start a new game and go north towards Venderbight. Then keep going north (you should encounter a Batswarm, directly north of Venderbight's port). Keep going north towards Venderbight and you'll encounter at least one Lifeberg near the Censors Arch. Then there are one or two more farther North.
Your pirates were around Gaiders Mourn, probably, and the smaller crabs were around Mutton Island?. The farther out you go, youll find more. If you're still finding nothing i'm not sure what to say. never heard of this problem.
Yeah as I said, I found plenty of stuff in my first couple of games - including those very bats and pirates you're talking about, and ran into (and away from) bound sharks and things further out to sea, but in my last couple of games there's been literally nothing. I experimentally sailed off the north of the map, got beamed to the hellgate place in the far north east, made it all the way back to Fallen London by the skin of my teeth, met Mr Sacks, ferried him all over the place and made another trip across map and nearly all the way back again (before dying), and encountered literally zero ships or creatures. I sold my deck gun for food because there was nothing to fire it at! In my subsequent, current game, the story is the same. Zero enemies.
I had wondered if it was something to do with retaining the chart from my predecessor captain, but that didn't have any effect on my first couple of games, and obviously I hadn't cleared the map entirely, or anything. So something seems to be amiss.
As a beginner to the game I assume it makes it waaaaay easier overall, but I am actually missing the easy-to-beat pirates, who seem to act as handy mid-ocean supply top-ups.
Thanks Mac! Will give the beta a go now.
Is it possible to have both the Unity 5 and Zubmariner beta activated?
