Unable to use a legacy curiosity item

Hey, zee cap'ns! Weird thing. I gained The Horizon Codex by unintentionally advancing the Supremacy: The Dawn Machine to TRIUMPHANT. The wiki says that I can use the item to increase Pages or, if I do not, then future captains will have access to it. I know what it does as a legacy item (oh wow!)

However, I am finding no way to actually use the item. When I am in my hold and I click on it, like the wiki suggests, the only option is 'Assay', not 'Use', and it does not have the bright green border like other usable items. I unassigned some of my officers to get my Pages down to 56. I am yet to collect any other legacy items, so I do not know if this is normal. I simply see no way to trigger the storylet associated with The Horizon Codex.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I'm running v2.2.7.3165 on a Mac.

You don't have to use it (you can't).
You should already have its bonus and/or it applies to all future captains in that lineage.

Thanks. Interesting. The wiki does say that you use it by clicking on it and an event/story is supposed to come up and let you choose one of two options.

I answered initially on my phone, now that I'm on the PC I went to the wiki to read again on it (since it's been years since I've done this).
The wiki is occasionally incorrect on some stuff or doesn't take bugs into account. It may have been built by reading the game files for the correct behaviour or something like that, but the page does suggest that it should be possible to use it to get to either 60 pages, or 85 if your background is a philosopher.
Either there's a manual use that is bugged, or it should have been an automatic trigger, but since your unboosted pages is 56 it's probably the first possibility.

At least the new captain boost still works.
