Stuck with Sphinxstone [Spoilers]
So I'm fairly sure that most junior zee-captains, once they realise the London-Venderbight wine trade is a steaming great pile of zeebat droppings, cotton on to carrying spinxstone from the Salt Lions back to London. It's a nice little earner, that eventually comes to an end, due to machinations of a certain party.

If however, you choose to reject the Bright-Eyed Sequencer's offer and accept Penstock's, then you may be stuck with a serious problem, especially on your first playthrough and possibly quite early on: If you started out as an urchin, the requirement to get rid of these 20 units of useless ballast clogging up your hold is a hefty 75 Veils! I'm certainly no rookie, but even at a stretch, I can only manage 63 Veils! Why in the name of everything good under the sun or false-stars, is it a flat-out wall? I am now effectively stuck with half my hold useless until I die or somehow manage to gain another dozen secrets from somewhere!

This needs to be addressed sooner, rather than later. A simple test, like nearly everything else in the game, would be more than sufficient, surely?

Well, you can dump most of them overboard.

Do you not still have the option to take the cargo to the Sequencer? I forget when that option goes away.

Another option that eluded me for a while: dump the sphinxstone, or some portion of it in the ocean. You do not need to have 20 to take it to complete the quest. You need 1. I wonder if you couldn't dump it all and go back to the Salt lions for more...

Useful to know, but it's still a huge oversight on the part of the developers. Making it a flat "Nope, you lack the requirements," on something that, let's be honest, many of us have other priorities to improve!
