The "star" is A Lump of Blue Scintillack. Valuable, but you can get many of them elsewhere. To get it, you can attempt to steal it (which will get you banned, success or not) or help Pigmote achieve independance. Achieving independence is hard, its three stats have to be really high.
Allowing the other factions to conquer Pigmote will yield some lame reward instead.
Personally I haven't been bothering with this island much. Considering the trouble and difficulty, it's not very rewarding. You can just do the Principles of Coral questline instead, it'll give you four Lumps of Blue Scintillack along with dozens of Scintillack, a whole bunch of Secrets and one of the colors for the Curator.
did have 7 plus might spirit and high civ scores. but wasnt sure if the roll couldve been redone with an alt f4 . but now that i think about it the games gonna save as soon as i land anyway so theres no getting around whatever the result is.
but any item i can buy with echos is redundant to quest for .
so im guessing ill just go ahead and do what ive done in the past. save pigmote and salt islands for later in the game.
saving salt lions deliveries until you can fill a 120 hold ship with 100 worth of salt deliveries . is a good option . especially if its close to london.
While the cavies are in control you can use it for a decent amount of Terror removeal.
If you give the island over to Visage you can buy Secrets for 900 Echos a peice.
I have long forgotten what happens if you had it over to the Drownies.
Unless your combined stats for Pigmole are atleast 24, it's not worth risking on independance.
I'd say make sure might is at least 6 if your civ is high, and more if it's not. Spirit isn't as important as the other two, use it to raise the other stats when you can.
Theres a list of events here, which you can use to judge your decisions. https://sunlesssea.gamepedia.com/A_Dilemma_On_Pigmote_Isle
Little tip: always keep 5 extra supplies when you visit, theres a dilemma which costs 5 supplies, and passing it up is never a good idea.
Getting the cavies independent gives access to very cheap scintillack (plus you get the star if they succeed anyway). You can buy it and get a lot of profit per item by selling it in London, the only downside is that it's really annoying to buy because you have to buy it one at a time. I made some amazing profits by trading it, but it's kinda boring.
Siding with rats gives access to repairs out at zee, useful if you're going for a combat oriented run.
Siding with the other two guys just gives some meager rewards, not worth it unless you're sure they won't make it.
With the expansion you can get it for 25 Echoes each and turn it into Sapphires. Also, you can turn Sapphires into double the amount of Sapphires.
The economy must have been completely different.
with that in mind, does anyone know where abouts in my save file i might find the values for the isles spirit, civ and might scores so i could possibly just edit them all to 8? that would be a real life saver. caise the rng for the nees some help missions sometimes just deals you a crap set of choices to choose to raise the isle.
so if anyone knows where these values are thx.
btw i tried looking for pigmote entries and spirit and might . but that didnt turn up much.
