Further proof that Steam needs a "like" button.
I wish that you could have helped expand Hideaway or find a way to transfer it once Temtum shed it's shell. vs. the options of "either make everyone leave Hideaway or let them all die" I felt killing the investigator was a bit harsh, but I have to admit that I am wondering if leaving Temtum all alone was the best idea?
I mean, is it a broken moral compass to put that adorable giant crab ahead of some humans?
Does the crab ask irritating invasive questions? Does the crab get your crew killed? Hell yeah I put the crab first. I could not put that pillow to the investigator's face fast enough. Also anyone living on top of a giant crab shouldn't expect it to last forever.
I get that, but I wish a third option of "let's figure out how to make the city adapt as much as Temtum needs to" would have been cool. Make it really challenging and rewarding at the same time. As it stands it's either doom everyone to death or leave more Temtum alone.
Yeah I can see where you're coming from. Personally I prefer the idea that no decision is perfect, too many games have a "golden path" that everyone is happy at the end of. Morality is just a concept rather than a universal constant. If I adhere to a moral code then that should be my reward... just knowing that I acted in compliance with my own moral compass. It gets a bit grating when games overly reward the "good" path with material gain. What makes the whole Fallen London setting unique for me is how morally grey it is.
All that being said there is a third resolution to the Tentum thing but it requires you to be following a specific ambition.
Also I agree with what you're saying, but from a technica standpoint I don't see why "saving" both Temtum and Hideaway wouldn't be possible given proper resources and technical effort. (i.e. stilting the city on the sea floor while temtum sheds and reattaching the city to the new shell or some variation of that).
But yeah, now I am not sure I want to keep playing. Too much effort to restart, sorta bummed with my "story" now as it stands. Blah.
From what I gathered the problem isn't technical so much as human. The inhabitance actively reject the idea that Tentum will no longer be a stable platform for them and prefer to leave rather than try to rebuild due to the effort involved when you convince them. Also you're not killing everyone, you're just turning them all into Drownies which will spread out and seek other people to murder in the water :)
Oh... well in that case I should have just killed them all, Dahut seems nice :P
Heheheh yeah, Dahut seems nice until you complete it's storyline and see it for what it really is.
