I don't use her much while roaming, as her turret prevents the sort of aerial acrobatics I enjoy doing (run and gun battles across rooftops). But I think she might be a bit more useful in lairs, if you put the turret at the right spot and just pump that baby full of shield and HP.

Shame the turret vanishes if you switch character, though!
Basically this. The gun isn't really her main weapon. the turret is. Use the gun to add vulnerabily and heal the turret. She's really about holding points when the enemy is coming to you. Anyone gets too close...hit them with the wrench.
Sincerelly, I kill more enemies with less effort with her, than many other agents.
You can also re-deploy your turret at anytime and place them at the most appropriate spot.
I developed her turret to have higher fire rate and faster deployment recharge. I also help smacking the enemies from behind. She has a quick horizontal swing, which is nice.
Just get the turret out and let it do the damage while you heal it. Or you can also help it a bit, shoot enemies if you're close enough or just hit them with a melee attack.
Is how you build it. For example, you can use that special gadget that make the turret invulnerable as taunt the enemies. Repair after the 2nd or 3rd use of the special, and use the mayhem turret for repairs and knockback the enemies, giving time to fix your main turret. And as I mentioned, there is another gadget that help to get mayhem more often.
Just don't expect fast kills with Joule. She is more about safe horde mode.
I also like the 'twinsie' tech that makes her turret prioritize whatever she's shooting at. Greatly increases her speed at taking down enemies. And I always run her turret in tank mode. Gives her plenty of freedom to run around and collect resources from downed enemies mid fight for more mayhem.

Many Agents are not only high difficulty viable, but can, in fact, solo carry. You can easily do diff 15 with just a single Agent if you're not braindead.
