Fastest Way To Get Intel?
I'm wondering if anybody knows an easier way to get intel. I've been recapturing outposts and rescuing hostages, but it's not enough intel to complete region investigations. I'm always short on intel.

Intel can drop from higher ranking enemies as well. Playing on higher difficulties will bring more higher tanking enemies into fights that you get into. This in turn will give you more intel. That is my go to way to get the intel.

Right at the start of the game I was already playing on difficulty 10 and I was OCD enough to try and kill all LEGION forces whenever they came after me (kind of dumb considering that LEGION are basically functioning as the 'heat' or the 'cops/army' in this game :steammocking:) , most of the time failing at the start but eventually beating them so I guess that's why I didn't have a problem with intel.

Wait, what ? You can actually be short on Intel ?! No offense but how did you ever run out, much less be short on it at all times ?

I started the whole region thing late on day 2 of playing the game, and by now i have 8 out of 12 regions unlocked, and have sent 3 Agents to the 3 spots the 8th region has to offer for me (so basically almost ready for region 9 already), and still have 854 intel left over as of right now.

Thanks, I will try that once I get my agents to level 40. I still need the other tech stuff for my agents.

Yep. I've already completed two region legion lair take overs. It costs a lot of intel. Some investigations cost 50 intel each. I'm on my third whole region investigation.

That's around 24 regions unlocked in total. In the region legion lairs, you get a special tech for your squad. I advise going in as three unique agents each lair. it's the level 10 lair, not the ones you find by investigating.

Yeah i know, still surprising to me that someone would run out, i guess you must have just chained missions after mission and done no real side activities / fights with legion to speak of ?

At the time of posting that i had 854 intel left over, i did another whole region (the 9th) and was back up to 830+ intel just minutes later, despite having just spent like 80-100 on a region.

Don't think i'll ever run out, i'll probably always have more than i can spend. Even if a single investigation can cost as much as 50 intel, by the time the mission is done (since the fastest you can get is 4 minutes i think) you'd have those 50 back, more or less.

But yeah, can only agree with UncleSam here, go to a high difficulty (if possibly, or just the highest you can efficiently do) and pick fights with legion endlessly.

Also doing stuff like hostage rescue and destroying legion equipment along the way is a bit of added intel too.

Yes you can be short if you don't grind.
I just unlocked Daisy and am 11 of 12 regions on the map. None of my characters is level 20 yet.

You may check my game progress on achievements, I defeated only 1 liutenant so far.
The trick?

While devs say go difficulty, I said in another thread, fastest intel gathering is retaking outposts from legion. Means kill fracking station, you lose an outpost and have to retake it.
Note that you need to progress the main story before fracking devices appear on the map.

Do not forget you need to get the money generator in the area back after losing an outpost. Feel free to ignore gremlin "office" as you can't get those gremlin from Ark like cash but have to play "walking simulator" towards each one.

One more thing. Solo contracts have tasks like kill ice turret with a specific character. Or destroy 2 hate machines with another. These specific targets do not appear on the map if you hold all outposts, so when you start doing character specific contracts, make sure you lose one outpost.

Since you apparently do that to farm Intel, tell me, how fast do you gather any ?

If you play on high difficulties and can chain large legion fights (as in multiple pride captains) you get a ton of intel really quickly.

Don't see any trick to it, it's just the same for leveling up, fighting legion all day, by now i'm also done with the first 12 regions and have like nearly 1,2k Intel left over right now.

I basically gain Intel faster than i can use it up, as i don't always do the Legion Lairs whenever they pop up.

Well one way to farm stuff is just to create havok to summon the legion attack waves you get everything from them (I got intel from bosses).
As for outposts legion recaptures one everytime you return to the ARK so if theres no enough outposts to capture just enter and exit the ARK.

I don't know how fast. All I know is that I don't care about wasting time on random trashmobs and have enough of Intel this way for everything.
Run dem Weh Aug 19, 2017 @ 6:38am
How is it wasting time tho ? Capturing outposts is just as much wasted time lol. Even more wasted if you consider that fighting legion constantly is the fastest way to level up aswell, so you're beating 2 birds with 1 stone.

I think you'll understand me better on timewaste if you read the thread I just opened:

Speaking of killing several birds with one stone...

That doesn't really explain your point at all.

Legion fights not only give you Intel, but also Upgrade Cores, R+D Materials, R+D Tech, some decent cash (especially with Fortune in your Squad), the best XP gain possible and more.

When i said 2 birds with 1 stone, i just meant for the sake of fastest Intel gain + XP gain, but there's multiple other benefits on top of that.

Also, do remember that this threads OP was asking about what the fastest way to farm Intel is.

Either way, basically fighting Legion out on the streets is one of the best things you can do in this game efficiency wise in general.

Something like Relic's Trading Companies if you're talking about cash gain, can't be increased by bonuses such as difficulty scaling or Fortune's Squad bonus, while regular drops can.

But it does. If you want to unlock all characters data, you need to do 5 solo contracts for each one. Okay, maybe you don't want to open all data, but you want intel only and then you'll uninstall. In such case, sure, ignore missions, put the game on max allowed difficulty at your level and grind anything you stumble upon in freeroam.
