New Purchase, Game will not start at all

Hi guys,
Picked up the bundle deal that has all the DLC as it was a steal at 16 quid however after downloading i now cannot get into game at all

As far as i am aware there is no error message or crash dump,
I launch the game through steam and it loads up what looks like a black screen [App and icon are in the taskbar] and then the app just force closes itself and im back at my desktop with nothing running

As a note i have NO antivirus installed and windows defender is turned off,
Hardware is also above spec so shouldnt be an issue there [windows 10 x64, i7 7700k, 980ti, 16gb ddr4]

If anybody could offer me some help it would be appreciated,
Already tried verifying integrity.. clearing steam download cache, reinstalling to other hard drives with no avail providing the same issue

I'd really rather not request a refund but if i cannot get this sorted i dont think i will have a chance

I'm installed on an SSD, black screen loading took about 30 seconds then continued into the game without issue. Same CPU/ram but 1080 GPU

Do you have most recent video driver?

Are you running other things behind the game? Did you alt + tab or do anything during the black screen loading time?

If you are on a regular harddrive and not an SSD you may need to defrag and just wait longer for loading

@Kunovega Im on the latest nvidia drivers [390.77] and have no issues with other games i play on steam,
nothing running behind upon launch apart from steam itself as i dont tend to use 3rd party apps and have not alt tabbed out from the application,
the force exit is what it does itself not from my doing..
If i am not being clear enough what i get is the app launching into fullscreen showing a black screen then after around 2 to 3 seconds it throws me back to my desktop and said app closes itself from processes.. checked task manager and its not laying in there either,
As for defragging you are kidding right?
Not a thing i have heard since my XP days way back... if you seriously think it'll help i can try it but i do not have any other issues with games from my steam library and other game clients

What's the yellow circle in the bottom right and what other stuff do you have running at the same time?

zotac firestorm, used for manual fan control and overclocking on my 980ti .. as for at the time of recording that? nothing other than steam/obs [for screen capture for this video]/firestorm .. Removing the gpu control app from loading and leaving my card to its automated defaults does nothing i still have the same result , What i'm not understanding is i can play ANY other title from my steam library without issue as you'll be able to see my recents and times etc so it is only with this game i am having issues, thats what is confusing me

You have to repair or if u havent had those then install it the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 both vcredist_x64.exe & vcredist_x86.exe. even though it has the 2015 installed. hope it works for you cuz i have my 3 friends who has this game now runs.

you can also just set the game to forced off in controller settings in big picture but then you can not play with a controller at all in mayhem
wich i myself did not mind since i prefer mouse+keyboard for this game

Tried it but didn't work for me and I'm having the same exact problem as OP

Many delays here and this is gonna sound far too extreme but even after doing all that was mentioned in here by multiple folks i couldnt get the game to run.
I decided to go down the last resort route and did a fresh installation of windows 10 back onto my system drive and lo behold it launches fine o__O
I must've had something causing a hell of a conflict but atleast now i can play the game with no issues.. performance isnt great on my rig but i know its not exactly the most optimised of games
