I did not finish every mission on 7+ during my first playthrough though and had to use mission replay to re do some of the earlier missions so it's possible this achievement requires the operations to all be completed during the normal play through.
Since a few of the agent recruitment missions have the difficulty pre-set (maybe not all of them; honestly I haven't tried to replay every single one), I figured that maybe only the main story/campaign/boss missions apply.
But upon replaying them at a higher difficulty and not triggering the achievement, I've been wondering if I missed something or if I glitched it by not playing at difficulty level 7+ on the initial playthrough (I just let the game auto-select the difficulty until I completed the game, then I started to change it on my own).
I guess if it really starts to bug me and it's not something that can be fixed easily, I could simply back-up my saves, delete the originals, and then start a new game going through pretty much what is required only to get through the main campaign at difficulty level 7 or higher. And since I'm more comfortable on how to play the game, it probably wouldn't take too long.
This issue has been reported to our team and we are working on a fix. It seems to be Mission Replay that is causing this so if you play on 7+ in your initial playthrough you will still get the achievement.
Sorry you guys ran into this. We really appreciate your support of AoM.
Does this mean the achievement will unlock for those of us who used replay, once the patch arrives? Or will we have to replay through the entire campaign?
I like playing games completely blind, as I am sure most of us do, because you can only play a game for the first time once. I want to play the game as it was intended and designed by the devs. I do not look at achievements, walkthroughs, or wikis.
When I started playing AoM I did not know the difficulty could be increased manually, neither did I know about the achievement. Blind.
Now there is no way to get that achievement because even though you can replay the missions, the difficulty is reverted to too low as soon as you start the mission.
The only way to do it is to lose all of your game by deleting everything, and starting over.
Those are two really bad and stupid design decisions.
