SSE4.1 issues AM2 NOT supported confirmed by volition support

I've confirmed that the game will most likely not work on any AM2.

Trying to start my game and it not running brought back swift memories of the launch of mafia 3 which had phenom II cpu owners unable to play due to no SSE support. it took them months to patch it so ppl could play. I've noticed that a few ppl with older phenom II are not able to launch teh game. Can anyone from Volition give an official answer on this I wonder?

November UPDATE: Game now Launches on Phenom II x4.

I am happy to tell you that after now rebuying the game for a second time it does indeed now launch on my PC thanks to the new patch. Not only that but it plays very well on a mixture of medium and high settings at 1080p. Thanks Volition. I'd given up all hope of ever playing this the first time I bought it and it goes to show that not everything consumers wish for falls directly on deaf ears. It's a very fun game. Thanks again.

We had the same thing happen with metal gear solid v but that was patched up fairly quick. Mafia 3 on the other hand took like three months which is pretty obscene. I have phenom II so Im fearing the worst right now.

Can I ask for more information on the exact issue you're seeing and also can you link me to a DxDiag for your machine?

Well I just had to redownload 23 g band then the game switched over the exe to the london beta exe after saying the exe was missing and now its downloading ANOTHER 23 gb. I have no words.

The EXACT issue is that the game sets itself to running and shows in task manager but then halts and stops running some moments later. I will post a DxDiag in a moment.

I think this could be my issue as well. Also can't start the game, also running a Phenom II (1090T)

Restart your steam client. Let me know if that works. If you're getting an error message please tell me what it says.

There is a common problem in steam with preloads where you need to restart the client for the exe to function on occasion.

Appreciated. Try that restart client I suggested and we may not have to dig into to the gritty details.

I've had that happen on my personal account for other games before. Steam can be funky sometimes. When that is finished let me know how the restart works.

[V] UncleSam could you not just tell us phenom users if the instruction set is possibly the issue? If it is then we may as well just refund instead of testing out methods to get it to run because it wont no matter what we do if it is the problem behind it all.
