turn off haptics, for some reason that STEAM controller part messes with PS controllers (be it DS3 or DS4)

Once I deleted the config for them, it worked perfectly

unticking all the controls in the general controller options of steam worked except for for me up and down are inverted on the movement, the camera is fine

Only Xbox controllers are officially supported. Your original question that I responded to asked about Xbox controller support, but later posts seem to indicate that you are trying to use a PlayStation controller instead. Which controller are you trying to use exactly?

Not him but I've tried official Xbox controllers and have had no luck... Every other game in my library works. I can go from Forza Horizon 3, Forza 7, The Division, Dead Cells, NBA Playgrounds in rapid succession and they all work... I load up Agents of Mayhem and it doesn't work.

Frankly, if I had bought the game off of Steam I would have returned it long ago.

That's really strange since both 360 and Xbox One controllers are working fine for us here, and we've gotten confirmation from other players as well. Do you possibly have some kind of controller emulation software running or perhaps some kind of other control peripheral plugged in like a joystick, flight stick, racing wheel, etc?

I can confirm I use an Xbox 360 controller exclusively and have had no problems with it. Mine's the genuine Microsoft Xbox 360 controller and wireless USB adapter.

dual shock 4, but it is not an excuse, i can understand if the buttons have issues and needs to be configured, but the directions inverted, come on...i tried to set it manually in the controller configuratior of steam, and the controls not even responding,deactivating the controller configurator all works except up down inverted which makes the game unplayable. There should be an ini file or something to modify to fix this.

I have wired 360 controller that doesn't work in AoM and saints row 3-4 sometimes. I am running on windows 10 and also have a logitech g13. I have to disable the joystick from the g13 in the device manager to get the 360 controller working in AoM.

I found a old forum post about getting controllers working in saints row 3 and you can type joy.cpl in a command prompt and see if there are any other controllers on your computer that AoM might be picking up or if your main controller isn't getting picked up at all.

I've been running other random console port games with controller support and didn't have this problem.

The mouse keyboard controllers are fine though so it isn't a big issue for anything besides driving being slightly harder.

I figured out a fix for ps4 controllers. Xb1 seems to be patched now, but if you go into game specific settings, select the dpad, and change it to 4 way mode, i.e. no overlap. Then it registers correctly.
