My second playthrough. Confused about something-Is this a glitch?
Hey folks. Its been five years since I first played Inside. I've been looking forward to playing it again but I'm being thrown off by something. Right at the beginning of the game, after you escape the pack of dogs and you jump into the water, you can back track and find an underwater cave. I took a look at a walkthrough because I thought you could do something there but there was nothing I could seemingly do. So to remind myself I looked at said video
and it shows the big beam standing upright and the pod lit up where upon which your character can rock the beam over, walk across to the pod and pull out the power cell.

However on my new playthrough when I went into the cave, the beam was already knocked over and the pod deactivated with its power cell laying to the side. Can someone tell me what's going on here? Is steam using my old finished save from which its launching a new game and the game is somehow remembering secrets I found before and not letting me accomplish them during a second playthrough?

The game keeps tracks of what pods you've disabled, both through playthoughs and in between deaths. I can confirm this because I disabled a pod, died, and when I respawned at a point where I didn't yet get the pod, I went to check and the pod was already dismantled. Hope this helps!

Interesting. How can the secrets then be "refreshed" so to speak so that you are starting from scratch? Deleting a cloud save perhaps? Maybe the developers intended it to work this way for a second playthrough so that you could then spend your time searching for secrets you did not find the first time?

How to refresh:
1. Do a secret ending
2. DIsable Steam Cloud and delete save files.
