INSIDE
Is it actually worth it?
I hear people say it's amazing and totally worth the money and then other people say "It's 3 hours long and sucks. I feel like i got ripped off" I don't really know which one to trust. If it's only 3 hours long can it really be worth the money? Kind of expensive for a little 3 hour long puzzle platformer isn't it?

Play Limbo, I see you have it in your library. If you'll like it there's very high chance you'll like Inside.
BTW Limbo is about 1.2 hours long when you know solutons to puzzles.

I already played Limbo. I liked it. The problem is just that Inside is a little short for it's price. I'm 100% sure that I'm gonna enjoy Inside. I just don't know if i'll go away from it feeling "ripped off" or not. It's quite expensive for a 3 hour long game. I wonder if it will become a free game at some point like Limbo did. Does Inside have any replayability btw? Limbo didn't really have any. Only reason I would play Limbo again would be because i forgot most of the things in the game (Going to replay it now :D)

Short answer:

Its like a Limbo 2.
Would you pay 20€ for Limbo 2 ?
Do you feel like a 3 Hour long Awesome Indie game feels right for 20€ in your opinion?
Do you feel like you can spend your 20€ buying something else that will entertain you nearly as good as Limbo 2, for much more hours ?

Answer those questions to yourself.
There is no right or wrong.
It's only your perspective of Value for Money.

Longer answer:

I'll call it Limbo 2 for this argument and I am going to say that.
I loved Limbo. Totally the best Indie platformer I've ever played.
Do I believe this game will be as good as Limbo ?
No I believe it will be better than Limbo.
Do I believe this game will offer me a great experience ?
I believe it will be the best Indie platformer I've ever played. Better than Limbo.
Do I think a Limbo-Like experience (+10-20% better) worths 20€.
That's a strict no. Although I know it will be a great experience,
I can think of at least 10 better ways to spend my 20€ on (and I already did that)
that will entertain me for a longer period of time. Limbo + Limbo 2 are just 3 Hour long each.

Because as certain I am that this game will entertain me, I also am, for other games as well.
I bought Dead by Daylight and I spent almost 100 Hours of fun with 20€.
I bought Distance and I've spent almost 15 Hours of fun for 20€.
I bought Darkest Dungeons and I know I'm going to spend many hours for 20€.

My post must look re tarded up to this point.
I just wanted to prove with simple words why Limbo 2 (INSIDE) isn't worth the 20€
The price is not competitive. There are tons of other games you can buy for this money.

You want to buy it ? Sure go ahead. I don't believe buying it is the wrong decision.
I just believe you don't get the most out of the money you pay. And you can get more
for your money elsewhere.

Inside is pretty much Limbo in replayability sence. There are hidden things that you cant "collect" and that you probably won't get all first time, like eggs in Limbo. Maybe you'll want to go find all of them. That took me second playthrough. Then some way to alternative ending will be enabled, but you'll need some code that was in the game somewhere and you don't remember where. That may take third playthrough. But all the puzzles remain the same, like in Limbo.
And in the end game leaves more questions than answers...

This game is (imho) worth it for the quality of the experience. It tells a story, it tells it well and it provokes questions. It has animation so beautiful it puts me in mind of "Prince of Persia" (not the 3D remakes - the original, 2D version) and in these days of motion capture I think skills like that are sadly forgotten.

It is a piece of art. Those saying that it is too short for the money are likely the same people who complain that the Mona Lisa is smaller than they expected.

Ok thanks alot people. I'm gonna wait for a sale. I don't think 3 hours of gameplay is worth the money, as i can get alot more fun out of another game and get way more hours on it for the same price as Railgun said. Thanks alot :D

I rather pay $20 for Inside, than buy another 2-3 procedurally (read: randomly) generated pixel-art rogue-lites. Sometimes there's more value in a carefully crafted experience than a collection of video game mechanics.
If you have to put that much thought into spending a theoretically unjustified extra 10 dollars for one of the best games out this year, you might as well spend it on fast food or pizza instead without thinking twice

This is better than LIMBO. I actually didn't like the ending to LIMBO. This gives you more for your buck, most definitely.

For me, it's about the person. If you like weird, ambiguous, creepy, interesting games, then it'll be worth your money. I thought it was worth it for the ingenuity alone. How long it took didn't really matter to me. The look, feel, and brain massage it gave was well worth the money.

But again, it depends on the person. If puzzles and open ended questions are your thing, then go for it. If not, then maybe not.

You know how you pay $12 to go watch some crappy movie for 2 hours? Even if it's the best movie ever, it's $6 per hour of entertainment. So for $20, if i can get a bit over 3 hours of entertainment, and I'm actively trying to solve puzzles and figure out what happens next rather than just sitting watching a screen, I'd say that's worth it. It's amazingly well done for such a small team. And it's very original.

I think that depends on your tolerance for games with non-conclusive endings and stories that are weird just for the sake of being weird.

Personally, after being rather disappointed with LIMBOs lack of story or ending, I went to spoiler myself out of the INSIDE ending on Youtube and while it certainly wins some points for being rather spectacular and unexpected, it also feels about as inconclusive as LIMBOs. Even if you piece all the story bits together and read the interpretations of it, the whole thing just feels really lame and basic.

Long story short, I skipped the game. Playdead is really good at making unique scenarios in their cinematic platformers, but they are no good at writing a cohesive and interesting story.

It is worth it

I'd say not worth it unless an artsy puzzle platformer set in a dystopian world is exactly the game you're looking for. It does this perfectly, but you're looking at $20 for a 2 hour game so...

Whether it's worth it depends on what you want. The few hours I spent in Inside were far more valuable than the 50 hours I spent in something like Skyrim. I thought the game length was fine, the puzzles satisfying but the highlight is absolutely the presentation. It's an art game, so if you don't like ambiguous story, industrial aesthetics, minimalist ambient music etc it probably won't be for you. If you like all that stuff, it's the best game ever :)
