does the wow bat have something special?

just completed my first run of the game,and just for fun, i decided to try and do a low% run. no tutorials,just trying to figure it out myself.
skipped the log/mola town post card, got the wow bat,went below the first checkpoint and died,and now i am trying to go above mola town to do a big jump.
while on the lovest section of that place and batting around a weird etherial sound played and i just teleported the direction i was batting.
what the hell was that about? if anyone knows.

if by teleported you mean bounced super hard, then yeah i've also experienced that a lot. from what I can tell it's a meme mechanic with the wow bat giving you a 1% chance to hit super hard randomly
