6-5: A Beautiful Puzzle

Hexcells has been keeping me company this last week.
Every puzzle has multiple discovery points and rewards the patient observer with a bit of 'truth' about the system.
Xcitedly I'd phone my girlfriend as I would encounter the difficulties at the end of each game, and now I've worked my way carefully to the center of 6-5 in Hexcells Infinite.
Careful is the word; I spent 5 tense hours wearing my poor girlfriend out while I worked it out over video stream.
Eventually, I got to the 'gateway' tile to the middle section, clicked it (still at 0 mistakes) and had to sit back.
Literally, I've been sitting back for 4 hours now, watching my assumptions fight it out over what the center could be, and being unable to believe my reasoning yet as thorough enough to proceed.
Looking at the whole puzzle, its twists, turns, curveballs (fascinatingly exciting), I started to cry for a minute and I realized that I was feeling a kind of enjoyment that was not unlike what I felt reading Godel, Escher, Bach for the first time.
So, I don't know what 6-6 looks like yet, but I wanted to thank whomever is responsible for this exceptionally beautiful puzzle and all the ones that came before it.

Just completed 6-5, and I have to agree with you. It's really a masterpiece. So hard, so twisted, and it is so much joy to finally solve it.

Congrats!! Feels reeeally great to finish it. I remember eventually slamming against that last 'blue blob bit' like a wall and then when it got to unlocking the center the wall started to push me backwards, haha!

I'm on it now and it is ridiculous. I have the left half completed and a lot of the right side, but I see nowhere to go. Another user gave me a 2 hints that I felt stupid for asking for after figured those parts out. I won't ask for another though.

Yes, I also felt that the last few puzzles in the game were slick, elegant paths of logic. Had a harder time with 6-4 than with 6-5 for some reason. Infinite is my favourite in the series with so many beautifully crafted puzzles.

6-5 took me longer to solve (with a few helpful hints from kind internet people even) than the entire first Hexcells did from start to finish. I definitely felt my brain stretched to its limits with this one!
