Glitch. Anomalies stop. Going around in circles and nothing

I've been enjoying this game for some time. But now I go in circles and nothing happens. The anomalies just stop. I can collect bells over that time by going straight around sometimes and going back other times.

I tried verifying the files. Did nothing. After I shut off my PC for the night and tried again the next morning it seemed to work again. But then it glitched again.

I hope this can get fixed. LOVE this game.

NOTE: (possible spoiler) the first time it glitched the wallpaper on the female side of the pub was blood red. I'm guessing that is one of the anomalies. It never changed as I circied around in either direction.

I was able to finish the game finally and see one of the endings. I think restarting the game might help.

So when you spot an anomaly you must go back towards the toilets if you go into the private room it will fail. If there is no anomaly and you go back into the toilets it will also fail. Could it be that?

No. I understood that part of the gameplay just fine. probably the first time I played it.

That is a possibility. I do feel like the (spoiler) red wallpaper anomaly got stuck. I went round and round and it remained.
I don't know 100% what to think even after closing and restarting the game. . I felt I might be getting the more subtle ones. I did finish the normal level and started Nightmare. It was slow at first but I starting getting new ones.

btw, there's a couple of graphical glitches. 1. as you go in for the first time, there's a bookcase to the right. then a table and set of chairs. The lamp on the wall had a glitch where a square flashes on the wall. There is also a couple of tables on this side (2nd and 3rd I believe) with legs going into the floor under rugs.

The game is now on V 2.1.6
