Crashes after "press any key" screen

I've been playing the game normally for quite a long while, including yesterday. Now the "press any key" screen immediately leads into a loading screen that crashes the game.

I tried updating drivers and verifying the game. I also tried disabling all possible overlays as recommended by some.
