sohei is my new favorite character

he plays exactly how i like to play, if im really defensive with him i can easily build my stacks and get a huge damage reward out of it it's fun

I've played him a lot since the buffs and he feels much better than on release but he needs more Imo.

I'm of the opinion that sohei not having a light heavy and heavy light chain isn't what holds him back, it's his damage. His base damage is so low a majority of the time no one feels any risk to parry his attacks and when they do land you get like 20 damage at most.

his base damage needs to be low because because 95% of his damage is his one move that almost 1 shots everyone, when playing him the focus should be trying to build your stacks, the no light to heavy or heavy to light chain does suck and needs to be kept in mind at all times but at least you can use his zone attack to go into a light or a heavy

You can use it from neutral to stuff gbs then feint into your own guaranteed gb after their gb bounces, plus it has HA so you can use it to trade

His zone is quite literally his best move aside from his 95 damage attack. It's his highest damaging move (besides the obvious 1-shot, but it's stronger and faster than all his heavies), has hyperarmor, the gbv of a light attack, can soft feint into a GB, and can even execute. It's actually pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ loaded. The best way to play Sohei is to spam his zone just about as much as humanly possible.
