honestly there are so many fking characters in this game that are just beyond broken but alot of them can be salvaged in some ways but varangian guard just fking scrap this hero i swear not a single person has anything good to say about this character

Shes extremly broken along with pirate, ocelotol, afeera, hitokiri, and orochi, blame the devs they dont play their game and have no idea how to balance the game.

No you're not tripping, Varangian Guard pretty much is an overpowered hero in her kit and is one of those heroes where most of the time it's "me press button me win", it forces the opponent to actually think on how to approach her while she can just fail and get no punishment for it.

Superior Block on all her light attacks, on her dodges and her Full Block, heavy finishers that can be soft cancelled into a GB.
Heavy finishers that lock the opponent in place for her to do whatever, can bash from the locking and soft feint for a GB.
Have you tried practicing against a Light Spamming Varangian Guard bot in training and realize pretty quickly that the only way to beat her is playing a hero with a Deflect/Superior Block on dodge and hope you land it or try to learn to parry lights on reaction? Yeah, not the easiest, she is way too safe to play as.

It's funny how people always complain about Light Spam and the developers just add two heroes that disgustingly encourages to Light Spam, meaning Varangian Guard and Afeera.

Personally Superior Block on Light FInishers should be removed, I've played a lot of of Afeera and I think it's way too strong for any hero to have this, could you imagine if Kyoshin was given this?
They pretty much decided not to give him Superior Block on finishers and on dodge because it'd be "too strong" then someone decided to give two other heroes that instead, why?
Varangian Guard is technically a better Kyoshin and Warlord, her feats even play into her doing Full Block and Superior Blocks like Kyoshin.

Doesn't help that Varangian Guard players also for some accursed reason are the most toxic and harrasment prone players I've ever seen, 9 out of 10 Varangian Guards are just guarranteed to be a massive jerk of a person.

Both Varangian Guard and Afeera should be nerfed, mainly removing the Superior Block finish and VGs heavy finisher soft feint, the latter she doesn't even need idk if Zhanhu needs it either tbh.
