So why does nobushi have reactable bashes?
I mean she is ranked highly in 4v4’s but I’m having some trouble using her in duels due to reaction based players

Nobushi bash is a meme, there is not point in using in it 1v1

You can't follow up with anything after the bash, and it's slow

It's good in team fights or sometimes kicking off a ledge but 1v1 with nobushi you're better off just spamming light attacks

No real good reason man

Yeah no. If you're in a 1v1 against someone that consistently reacts to your kick, they will also react to your 500ms lights. Despite the lights being faster, they require the same amount of timing to block (100ms guard switch compared to 166ms dodge iframe startup), and are much faster to parry (0ms startup required to parry an attack). Not to mention the light attacks are MUCH easier to punish (punishing kick requires a followup read. Does the Nobushi light? Heavy? Nothing?).

The "best" answer is currently don't use Nobushi past the mid-level mmr duels, but that sucks.

The real answer is if you're playing Nobushi at higher levels you have to play very defensively, and be tricky. Utilize her range, good safety, and absurd damage to get wins. It's still not easy at all, being the one hero left in the game with 0 effective offense sucks a fat one.

*a lot of text*

Didn't ask, tell it to OP not me

The reasoning "what if you fight somebody being able to parry lights" is not reasonable at all

Either your goose is cooked or you're fighting a script cheater, Nobushi also has hiddden stance attacks coupled with a dodge for that very reason

... bashes are inherently harder to react to than normal attacks. This is, primarily, because the time taken to get iframes from the dodge startup is longer than it takes to swap your guard to block something, and MUCH longer than it takes to parry something. There's other factors, but there's good reason why 500ms lights are seen as completely reactable, while 500ms bashes (such as most of the unfeintable chain bashes in the game, or Afeera's tier 1) are seen as unreactable to most of the playerbase.

Fighting someone who can parry lights is very ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reasonable lmao what the hell are you talking about. It's probably a majority of the playerbase.

Every attack Nobushi has out of her hidden stance is reactable. Still 500ms lights, 566ms bash, 700ms heavies.

Recent studies have shown with empirical evidence that I still have not asked

Maybe reply to the OP next time

Surely ubi could make the kick 400-450ms and it’d make her more viable for duels

the real answer is that not every hero & not every move is meant to be viable in both duels and dominion. you can agree or disagree with the decision, but that is the design ethos that the dev team is working with

That would make sense, but almost every character with a bash, is both great in 4v4’s like orochi, or amazing in duels like shinobi. She’s great in 4v4’s, I just wish she was better in duels
