From the Library page in Steam, it appears like For Honor should be free to play, the button that's there tells me I should be able to launch it. I do, but then UbiSoft Connect pops up and asks for the CD key for the game.
I suspect either they gave Steam the wrong computer code or software to connect to Connect, or they fouled up something on their end within Connect or their back end.
I opened a support case up with UbiSoft, but of course they have higher demand for support, so it may be a while before they can get back to me.
thanks for reply! just like other players, I uninstalled already there's no way I download and reinstall it all over again.
I tried my own problem solving, such as opening the Ubisoft connect and trying to launch the game from there since they had the "free week" too, but there was no way I could locate the files to make it recognise them, so the only way it was to either install it fully from ubisoft or uninstalling it and f it. So I went with the latter after many different attempts to solve it.
