When to open loot boxes what rep?

So just curious when I should start opening loot boxes? I have a shinobi at rep 3 but the loot boxes are purple. If I wait for rep 4 will they be orange?

Rep 5 is when orange starts i think. I'd just open them now. You'll get more later.

Aw ok, i have 40 plus haha i've saved them all becuase i've never had a high rep guy. My shinobi is the highest rep.

I'd advise waiting until you reach rep 7 (or even 8) with a hero before opening crates, at rep 7 you start to get teal gear which is the best gear in the game (apart from refined) and at rep 8 you'll only get teal gear from crates

This. Legendaries are guaranteed at Rep 8 so I'd wait until then to go all-out, personally. It's not worth it otherwise. Opening a couple crates early wouldn't hurt though if it's for fashion purposes.

You have to have killer looks, after all.

Rep 8 for legendary gear, but if you want refinable legendary gear you have to wait til Rep 9.
Legendary drops at Rep 7 aswell, but it's not guaranteed.
