I suggest you do the same while it's on sale (get the edition with season pass included). It will help you by unlocking all heroes so you can try them all out and stick with the one you love without spending steel only to be let down by the hero you unlocked because, in the end, he doesn't "feel right" in your hands.
Or you buy the cheapest version and, before you buy one of the DLC heroes, make sure to watch detailed videos about them.
So yeah... I would say the only thing that is worth getting (beside the base game obviously) is the season pass but don't waste real money to buy steel. Just play your dailies and you should have plenty to buy stuff for your main 1-2 heroes after a couple of months' worth of dailies.
