He's good now. In casual level, he's like super good.
500ms light with 600ms heavy, fastest scotman alive, and I am not joking

Highlander does have a pretty high skill ceiling, you need to learn dodge timings as well as having good reflexes to negate people's guardbreaks. It feels really satisfying to beat someone with him when you aren't spamming kick>grab. I have 30 reps on Highlander btw
characters can have higher skill ceilings and still be trash, shinobi is a perfect example.

You're always going to be subjected to patches changing how good heroes are, highlander ok-ish ATM, not the best but not too bad.

he does take some time to get used to, so yeah he has a higher skill ceiling than most other characters if you really care about that.

Highlander has a higher skill ceiling than others, but it's also not that effective especially when matchups tend to negate HL's positives outright. For Honor has always had a relatively low skill ceiling that plateaus sharply once you've overcome the rather simple learning incline (there is no curve to speak of). Skill Floors are also relatively high to allow for a better barrier of entry in turn.

In essence, high skill floors, low skill ceilings, and little to no learning curve whatsoever. The Game is simple to get into, relatively easy to become proficient in, and there's too many limitations to hero design that just isn't addressed in a timely or healthy manner.

HL is uh, pretty mediocre in all honesty, mostly getting by with obnoxious damage values and being really defensive in 1v1s. However he is probably the hero with the highest skill ceiling currently.

Nope
With 500ms light, I think right now, Shaolin is harder.

HL is easier now but is still a pretty technical hero. His lights are pretty easy to use now but hes still HL so he can still be difficult to learn but once you get him down, hes one the most enjoyable heros to play.

Heres a vid if your still on the wall its outdated when it comes to lights but everything else is relevant, this is actually where I went to learn as I couldnt seem to get him down.

The speed of HLs lights is never what made him difficult, what makes him difficult is trying to turtle with no ability to block or parry.

You can E to cancel the stance to parry btw.

I mean, joke aside, dodging, light spam and kick to counter gb is not that difficult.

That is correct, but there is a 100ms delay there which will make this impossible to do on reaction to even 500ms lights. And obviously there is more to HL than that like avoiding interrupts and undodgeables, needing to be really careful with stamina, dealing with opponents who do everything in their power to stand in your face, etc.

Highlander = abusing top light combo because it doesn't lose your frame advantage
