Standard Version vs Hero Unlocks (500 steel)

If you have the standard version, are ALL heroes 500?
i.e every single hero in the game, across all seasons, all factions?
Or are the 'brand new' ones more than 500?

Weighing the option of buying standard and grinding unlocks at 500 a piece
or
Buying complete edition

No. Just the base 9 characters that aren't the 3 vanguards.

This includes: Conqueror, Peacekeeper, Lawbringer, Berserker, Warlord, Valkyrie, Shugoki, Orochi and Nobushi.

1st year DLC characters cost 10k i believe. This includes Centurion, Gladiator, Highlander, Shaman, Shinobi and Aramusha.

Year 3 and Marching Fire will cost 15k.

Thanks, does that mean then if I go for the marching fire version I would get

All vanilla chars (already unlocked)
All year one chars (already unlocked)
All marching fire chars (already unlocked)

Only need to unlock year 3 @ 15k /per char?

I don't mind a bit of grind if I'd already have a decent pool of heroes to play with

I believe the Marching Fire edition only comes with the Standard edition and Marching Fire.

Also you don't instantly unlock base characters with Standard. They just cost 500 steel.

But yes you would get all Marching Fire characters excluding Zhanhu as he's a year 3 character.

So all in all: Marching Fire edition is just Standard and Marching Fire, meaning you'd have the 3 vanguards and 4 Wu Lin from the start.

How do I get past this? AFAIK I only have starter
If i launch via steam or uplay everything still costs 8k steel or more.
Instead of 500 for the base characters (which is what I'm ultimately aiming for)
