Does this bother anyone else? It's like we're commanding an army of sub-human oompaloompas while the rest of us tall people do all the work. Is there any reason why they decided player characters should be twice as tall as the other soldiers? Well, maybe besides framerate.

That's not just a joke, that's a real thing. Nobles were usually quite a bit bigger than peasants because of much better diets.
