Breach takes longer.
when you have a team that only wants to 1v1 or won't work together, won't revive or wastes attacker tickets, it becomes extremely hard to attack/defend.
Dominion has always had the larger population because games are can be shorter(if your steam rolling the other team) and is a more straight forward game mode that doesn't require as much team work(more PUG friendly)
But its mainly about time.
and its unbearable if u have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ teammates
Breach is an awful experience 4/5 times. Most of the time the match is decided in 5 minutes(Usually that you'll lose) and then its a 30 minute process of getting ganked and then at the end you get 100 steel. Any order that mandates more than one match of Breach is not worth it.
-One of your mate is drunk and ignores the objectives => you get rekt
-You get to play against a 3/4 stack of chinese gank addicts => you get rekt
-You play a lower than high tier character => you get rekt
-You join an already lost game => you get rekt
-You play on defense => you get rekt (cuz this mode is "balanced and competitive, lmao")
Only good points are :
-good steel per minute
-good xp per minute
But it's so tedious that most people prefer to farm at a slower rate and actually have fun without needing a full squad of friends try harding their asses of with their shiny new meta mains.
I would play a lite version of Breach tho. Like, 1 gate, commander at 3/4 health, half the amount of respawn tickets. Idk, something Breach-like that can be done in 10-15 mins.
(Don't get me wrong i've been put in some horrible teams)
And I'm almost always playing Raider, if not that than Warlord or LB and it still usually goes pretty well.
But I can see how the long match times would keep some people at bay, which is a big reason Dom is favored.
There's also the comical slew of horrible design decisions that make no sense.
The commander is laughably easy to kill by suicide charging, getting one parry, and using revenge to chunk him down.
Ganking is the only way to win, but ganking in this game is just abusing cheese or bugs and really isn't fun for either side.
The single neutral healing point is just stupid. It forces you into hilariously one sided fights nonstop because you have no other way to heal up. There should be a heal in both team spawns so you can make the decision to hold the mid point for fast heals and pressure or run back to your spawn for a safer heal but waste time.
And a bunch of others. This has been discussed a hundred times. There is no strategy to breach. The illusion of strategy is there, but ultimately it's just cheese and ganks and hiding in waves of minions that do too much chip damage.
