Yeah I wish there were some way to implement disadvantage to the lagger. For some reason this game's netcode has made the decision to simply allow attacks to come out faster at higher pings.

I wish there was some way to make people who are lagging to simply be unable to input attacks (or at least make them come out late/delayed) if they have a lag spike or have ping 70+.

In a game like For Honor (or any fighting game, really), the advantage should naturally be to the player with lower ping (or at least a fair playing field for those with 50 ping and below).

Been keeping track of threads on high ping, so thank you for sharing your feedback with us as well.

How often would you say you run into players we really high ping?

I'd say like 1 in 5 matches. 20% of matches. Usually it's not actually the entire enemy team (at least from me in Southern California) but just one or two of them. I understand that some players are playing from the midwest or even the east coast (or even mountain areas/high elevations!) but I think it's less an issue of being matched with lagging players rather than the privileges laggers get. I wouldn't mind getting matched with high ping users if they weren't given so many free advantages for their slow internet.

For instance, laggers attacks come out faster. (Attacks you throw at them come out faster too-- on their screen, anyway). Although this may seem fair on paper, I really do think high latency players should have some input delay in addition to the lag compensation we have now. Players should be penalized for having high ping-- not rewarded in the way they are now due to the lag compensation!

Attacks you throw at them does not come faster no. Whenever that happens they parry my lights XD

Is that right? When I was up in Big Bear (high elevation mountain region) for the holidays and 1v1ing my buddies at our cabin, we all had like 160 ping and could see each other's screens. The light attacks were coming out extra fast for just about everyone there. Granted, we were playing via mobile hotspots. It was really bad (but extremely funny!)

Here's how it looks via a clip I made. Sorry about the toaster quality:

I suppose only high ping users get sped up lights then. Based on your input, I'd wager that low ping users have slower lights then.

Alot, and new event map lags like crazy.

What's even weirder is people with nice low ping, but then they somehow are still laggy af, skipping animations, teleporting, iceskating, not taking damage and such, all with 20-30 ping. How does that even happen.

3 out of 10 matches. It does get annoying since it alters the windows for certain moves alot.

every game man. The worst part of it is people intentionally make themselves lag by downloading or having a bunch of tabs open with streams.

Its killing the game man.

Its infuriating to have someone running around with 119 ping all game emote spamming while they skip segments of animations.

If ubi thinks theyll lose more players by kicking the higher pings theyre wrong theyll continue to lose more as more people get enraged from playing vs high pingers.

I find myself just alt f4ing and doing something else with my time when i play vs the laggers. its just pointless.

I've noticed that momentary ping spikes don't always pop in the scoreboard. Could be a macroed program altering their ping for a nanosecond and then dropping it back. Could also be straight packet loss.

Then in 2v2 or 4s, being anywhere near a 100+ pinger causes the game to lag out for everyone.
