Star symbol next to gear.

What does this mean? I have a few sets of armor that have a * symbol next to them. (Like my Equine blade for my Cent for example.

Star symbols represent a unique set that only that Hero can discover.

If I salvage a unique set, am I still able to switch to the look of that unique look for a different piece?

For example if I broke down my equine blade, Will it show up as a visual option for other swords?

Isn't all gear unique to each hero? The only other unique aspect would be the name, and does anyone really care about gear names?
