Yes and no; he's a one trick pony, similar to Warden for example.

Where Warden just has to mix shoulder bashes with charged shoulder bashes for free heavies, Centurion just needs to be able to knock you over or wallsplat you for heavies.

Not really... I mean it's just my own opinion but he's seriously got no effective combos. Just look at the wulin -> pretty much all of them have a guaranteed combo that's decent at worst and just spammable asf at best - Back to Chad boi... Well he's got probably the fastest heavies in the game which makes trying to guardbreak chad bro pretty much impossible unless he tries to feint it buttttttt. He has only two ways to damage you a parry for 25 damage or a punch into the eagle talon combo. Now the punch becomes useless once you can dodge it since it's only the charged punch that really rewards you howeveeeeer if you can dodge the punch you can probably parry the rest of his ♥♥♥♥ too.

The thing is this game should changes itself for a better player base.
Just 1 edition, you get all Heroes.
Because people hating Heroes is purely because they dont have access to that said Hero yet, like Cent, Wulin...
And when they dont understand and cant really learn them because the paywall 10~15k steels - quite a grind; also before anyone say about training, it doesn't help much for a beginner.
Stop the spend steel to buy Hero, make this a great game again - which is impossible.

lol always the one dude, JuSt DoDgE
till of course he feints his GB and then cut scene combos you

Most centurion players have no clue what to do when the grinder combo spam doesn't work.

dude i got 500 hours in the game. I've learned him, the problem is like I said. you make ONE MISTAKE and it's over. He knocks you into the ground and that is an 80 hit punish. How is that ok in this game where it's all about back and forth? I dont get how you guys are so fanatical about how he's balanced and OK.

Add some new tools so he has openers if you want but even out the 80 hit cut scene combo. It knocks you down AND drains all of your stamina. He's borderline broken and I've never seen something like that in a multiplayer game in the 10 years ive been playing them

I've never been ok with game mechanics that take complete control away from the player. There's a full 3-5 seconds as he's knocking you down, stabbing you and hitting you where there is literally nothing you can do. That's broken mechanics
There are a lot of characters that can nail you for 60+ health off of a single mistake. Centurion is not alone in that, and it irritates me that people act like he is. EVERY character that isn't part of the original 12 powercreeps/is cheap compared to their original counterparts. It's why I'm glad that this upcoming 'year of the harbinger' is only 4 heroes. It may indicate that they are going to devote the resources to balancing out things.

Hardly anyone is saying he's balanced, the general opinion is he's a lack luster hero whos only strengths are safe heavies and strong punishes. Sure the animation itself is a bit long, I think it should be sped up, but the damage is fine

Its a bit silly arguing about muh 80 damage cutscene when half the cast have simmilar or higher damage max punishes than centurion. Admittedly his is a bit easier to perform because if can happen if a wall is near by instead of the opponent having no stamina. But still by that logic raider must be the most "broken" character in the game because you go out of stamina, he throws his zone, then feints it and you go to parry it, he gets a 90-95 max punish. Big max punishes doesn't make up for the rest of the characters kit if its still terrible in a 1v1 same applies to aramusha.

Centurion is by far #1 Topic here, reddit and on youtube since long long time. Even after MF expansion. This simple fact tells enough.
If you consider to purchase the game you will land on one of the Centurion topics and conclude from this to the whole game there is a heavy issue. Devs dont care, fit to overall opinion bout ubi game care, so no buy.

I just spended money on the game cause i seen a positive development after some hours of research. The dedicated servers, the anti-cheat improvements and the balancing patches. The starter giveaway for free finaly let me give the game a try and so here i am. May be others do quite similar. Its not the money its the time you invest into a multiplayer game what counts most.

Wrong thought?

Fundamentally broken? Sure..

OP? Not even close...

Like all of the other characters who don't have reworks he's good at one thing in offense: chip damage

taunt. Long time not in a 4vs4 without a centurion.

Problem are new players that want easy game experience without learning .

Thats why its meant to be a game. 200 hours to be good at something? Are we going for olympia? Well thats 10000 hours but you earn money with it.
200 hours thats more than some employees work in a month.

I dont play Centurion tbh, but he seems fine, I either rekt or get rekt'd when going against him, if you play him well, he's tough, but that goes for any hero really.
