I've already lost what I saw, cus damn, I'm tired, but apparently the first piece of Year 3 content is coming out in January 2019. Therefore, we haven't paid for a 'Year Pass' of content in Marching Fire.
Two things.
One: where does it say that Marching Fire is a year pass? Because from what I can find, it's an expansion, not a year pass.
Two: Year of the harbinger is going to be a slow leak of content... most likely. You'll pay up front to get that content as it comes out.

I'm not trying to argue with you, my man. I'm just kinda annoyed with the price points. If the Year 1 pass, which gave us every character before MArching Fire, was $30. Then Marching Fire was $30. Why did they call the next pass 'Year 3', if Marching Fire was not 'Year 2', and charged us the same price? And then charged us the same price. Where was Year 2? Right, it was Marching Fire, but MF is actually 3 months. It's unreliable, it's exploitive. Why is Marching Fire not Year 2, but Year 3 is Year 3, and I'm paying the same price for a 'one time installment' vs a 'one year installment'?
I can understand your agitation. I'm also fighting a cold currently so if I come off as argumentative, that is not my intent so let me just say sorry about that before I continue.
As for why it's worded the way it is, I don't know. That is something that someone from Ubisoft will have to answer (hopefully) at some point. With that said, it's possible that it might go the same way as MF and give you the choice of getting the new heros via steel if you want. I myself would be fine with paying again. Mostly because of that hammer viking - I wants my hammer-time.
Breh, I'm mid cold, and I'm in Xmas Eve drinks at this point. Just. Seems like we're paying the same amount for less content. Year 3 shouldn't be called 3. Cus there's 'been no year 2' as you said. But Ubisoft I guess.
Hopefully this doesn't become a meme where Valve can't count to three and Ubisoft can't count to, two. It's possible that we might be paying for less content, but hopefully that content is of higher quality.
Inb4: "Wu Lin is OP; Ubi please nerf" comments.
The Marching Fire pack would give you instant unlock for the Wu Lin heroes, as well as the Arcade Mode. All of that is $30.
Year 3 Pass is $30 with the instant unlock of the new heroes (when they come out) and a bunch of other things like elite outfits and crates. I did not believe that this pass is worth my wallet, so I will not touch it compare to the previous contents. The heroes will cost 15k steels to unlock upon release (a week after the seasons start I believe).
Another reason why I won’t be touching it is because I am taking my final semester (and my gaming computer is broken, wah). So, by the time I settle in a apartment, get a job, and buy a new computer desktop (instead of laptop), the third hero might be released. And damn, I will be so far behind.....
*Best of luck with all that. Only thing you'll be behind on is all the complaining in the forums about how the new heros play.
