Marching Fire DLC - Worth buying as a new player?

Okay, so it's been already a few weeks since the release of the Marching Fire DLC and I want to ask, is it worth buying?

Just for the record, I'm a Starter Edition player. I got the game for free like half a year ago when Ubi were giving out free copies on Uplay. If not for that, I wouldn't even bother buying it tbh. But now that I've given it a go and played it for a few hours, it is really fun and I find myself coming back to it when I have nothing else to do. On the other hand, I see lots of people having huge problems with the game and from what I've read on the internet, the game can get really unbalanced and frustrating at higher levels.

It pains me to have half of the heroes locked because of the Starter Edition and the grind is straight up annoying, but it's doable, atleast when it comes to Year 1 heroes and the Hero Bundle.

What I don't wanna grind for tho, are the Marching Fire heroes. They're 15k each and even when doing the dailies, getting 15k is really a lot of days spent on the game just grinding out those challenges.

So I was wondering if I should buy the Expansion now that I am starting to enjoy the game. I have tried some of them in the Training grounds and found the Jiang Jung guy the most fun to play. I'm also guessing that if you buy them just by grinding renown, you still wouldn't have access to the Arcade mode, which I also wanna try (Also heard there are some kind of special rewards for completing it and i like shiny stuff).

I could also just buy that one hero I liked for renown and eventually buy the others later if I'd want to. But then I wouldn't have access to Arcade?

I know this should mostly be my choice, but I'd like some tips or recommendations especially from those who have the DLC. I don't trust Ubisoft much, but there is something weird with their games that always makes me come back to play some more.

Don't buy that pay2win crap.
You can unlock the four characters with a week or two of steel grinding each and the arcade mode isn't worth more than a few bucks.

it gives you 4 heroes and 3 of them good

also unlcoks arcade mode which isnt necessary but good

if you have the money go ahead


but if i were you i wouldnt buy marching fire because you will end up using one or 2 hero and bonuses isnt that great

go buy year 3 pass and get that OP heroes early ( also gives you 1 effect that can be used on everyone and also cool )

Yeah I was also thinking about buying Y3 pass if not Marching Fire. That is, if I actually were to spend money on the game. The thing is that we have no idea what kind of heroes there are other than Vortiger and I'm guessing he'll be nerfed badly anyway after a week of being OP like literally any other operator/hero from Ubi games. Going for something you know more about is a bit more safe imo.

dont worry about nerfs by the time the new hero comes you will have enough money to buy every wu lin
