For anyone getting FPS dips or stuttering
So for the longest time I kept wondering why the hell my FPS drops so randomly and sporadically in For Honor. I was convinced the game was just poorly optimzed or something.

Until I found out that DS4, SCPtoolkit, and various other programs I've tried for my PS4 controller on my PC were causing the issues.

After I downloaded InputMapper legit all my problems stopped: https://inputmapper.com/

My FPS is rock solid right now, no dips and no issues with my controller in For Honor(or any game for that matter). And it additionally is still being actively developed unlike some others out there.

Just be sure to have it running in exclusive mode, so it doesn't intermittently change from Xbox controller to a Playstation controller(which causes all kinds of additional issues).

If you're on Windows 10, be sure to get this: https://inputmapper.com/downloads/download/5-tools/76-inputmapper-hidguardian

And just run the bat files in the directory it installs to.

I hope this helps others.

Using PS4 controller here. I don't use any other software for the controller because the game supports it already. And yes, I've been getting spikes and random lags at times. Wondering if it the controller though. I hope UbiJurassic or someone sees this and confirms it.

Give InputMapper a shot instead. The direct support built into the game was giving me issues as well.

PS4 controllers have been known to have some issues, but mostly in conjunction with Steam Big Picture. Make sure you have “PS4 controller configuration” disabled in your Steam Big Picture settings.
